so how do I get Refresh 2? I have Refresh 1 installed currently.

Service Pack 1, v.744

Read post 16 up top. At the moment, that is the only way to get it.

I just installed mine this morning, and it is smooth!

You need the latest version of a script file that is run at the command prompt. Dunno where you'll find that though.

Guys,

I've installed this fine on my laptop, but for some reason I get an error on my Desktop machine, Windows Update finds the Service Pack update, but when I click on install update, I get a Windows Update error of: 8007000D

Any Thoughts??

this is probably almost as good as the final product dont ya think?

Yeah.... i think it is..... just look at the fact there is no sign of evaluation or version number..... n the build number is 6001.18000 ?I have a feeling this is gold code.

When i Installed SP1 RC Refresh 2 it was 564mb in total, where as the last build was only 74mb so refresh 2 must have had all the language packs included.

I think the final might be this or for the next week or so they will have another internal refresh for rtw.

But this version is really great, I think this is how the retail version should have been last year.

No, that was just a bug on the server side. Be thankful you don't have 64-bit, as they had to download nearly a gig. The problem is fixed now.

The language packs are not out yet, though if you have one installed from before you don't have to uninstall it before applying the latest SP.

And don't count on this being the final FINAL edition (although it'll surely have the same major build number), since MS always likes to put on finishing touches to their OS's post any released RC.

Everythings working great here. The installation has been the fastest one i have seen with all of the previous release but has been the largest to download. 'Feels like' a much snappier desktop experience for me on my two machines. No problems at all. Nothing but good things to say about this latest release. Looking forward to the final release.

yeah definitely hoping that also... well unless they plan on doing something major which i wouldn't mind waiting for. Since that's 99% NOT the case i'm ready for it as is :) I installed it yesterday and it's definitely peppy. I was having some weird issues with the lsat one making me want to go back to RC but then this lil gem showed it's face so i removed the other and have this one now and it's definitely an improvement. :)
