Evolution
well with this SP, they removed all the language packs just like the previous ones :/ So either they're going to update the language packs for the SP or this isn't final.
Robbie Ride
When i Installed SP1 RC Refresh 2 it was 564mb in total, where as the last build was only 74mb so refresh 2 must have had all the language packs included.
maxsquared
I think the final might be this or for the next week or so they will have another internal refresh for rtw. But this version is really great, I think this is how the retail version should have been last year.
SMELTN
so you are really noticing THAT much of an improvement now with this release of SP compared to RTM Vista?
maxsquared
Can't prove it, just feels faster. BTW, the zip is still slow, but I mainly use winrar anyway.

No, that was just a bug on the server side. Be thankful you don't have 64-bit, as they had to download nearly a gig. The problem is fixed now. The language packs are not out yet, though if you have one installed from before you don't have to uninstall it before applying the latest SP. And don't count on this being the final FINAL edition (although it'll surely have the same major build number), since MS always likes to put on finishing touches to their OS's post any released RC. Maximum Error
Everythings working great here. The installation has been the fastest one i have seen with all of the previous release but has been the largest to download. 'Feels like' a much snappier desktop experience for me on my two machines. No problems at all. Nothing but good things to say about this latest release. Looking forward to the final release.
maxsquared
Is it just me or the download link stopped working?
DaViD_BRaNDoN
Hopefully it's be released on 15 Feb 2008 as mentioned earlier in the news
Roger H. Veteran Posted January 26, 2008 Veteran Share Posted January 26, 2008 yeah definitely hoping that also... well unless they plan on doing something major which i wouldn't mind waiting for. Since that's 99% NOT the case i'm ready for it as is :) I installed it yesterday and it's definitely peppy. I was having some weird issues with the lsat one making me want to go back to RC but then this lil gem showed it's face so i removed the other and have this one now and it's definitely an improvement. :)
