Guest
Hi, when I started my laptop, the Windows Aero Interface was disabled, instead the Windows Vista Basic UI was enabled, there is no options in the theme settings to enable the aero interface and the event viewer is showing the following error: "The Desktop Window Manager was unable to start because the desktop composition setting is disabled". Any ideas what's causing it? I've tried rebooting and restarting the dwm.exe process but no luck. I haven't made any system/software changes recently. I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium. Thanks. Guest
Thanks, though that seems to be about applying the aero interface to a program.. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/620582-desktop-window-manager-problem/#findComment-589217870 Share on other sites
petroid
Is this running of AC power or battery? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/620582-desktop-window-manager-problem/#findComment-589218798 Share on other sites
Guest
Its on AC Power, however it came back there for a while and now just after turning it back on it has been disabled again, strange. I'm going over the event logs again to see if I can find anything.
