The Big Wrestling Thread!

That moment when I thought Cena was gonna do The People's Elbow, I was seriously marking out.

The recent shows have been pretty boring, haven't they? Just filler for WrestleMania. Last week's SmackDown! was definitely a filler show. The only good bits on last night's RAW were the catfight (where's Joey Styles when you need him?) and Santino and Kozlov celebrating with Kane and Big Show! :p

WWE has announced that Sin Cara will make his TV debut on next week's edition of WWE Raw, which is being held in Atlanta, GA, the night after WrestleMania 27.

Source: The Wrestling Observer

It's being reported that The Rock's return to WWE thus far has worked out much better than both sides ever expected it to. As we first reported in an exclusive you can read if you CLICK HERE, WWE is already anticipating Rock vs John Cena, and it looks as if The Miz will be involved in the mix as well.

While WWE is keeping a very tight lid on what future plans The Rock has with the company, it's being said that The Rock has enjoyed his WWE return so much that he is indeed open to working a few more matches with the company. If Cena vs Rock does not take place first, then the feeling is that Rock vs Miz will be The Rock's first bout, with Cena vs Rock happening at a later date.

As far as Sheamus is concerned, early 'Mania plans called for The Bella Twins to be in his corner and Gail Kim to be in the corner of Daniel Bryan for their match, however it appears as if that idea has been scratched.

WWE originally had planned for The Corre to face Big Show, Kane, Christian and Kofi Kingston in a tag team match at Wrestlemania, but at this time it looks as if Christian will be involved in the World Title match instead. One idea being discussed is to have Christian in Edge's corner for his match against Alberto Del Rio, only to turn on Edge and cost him the title. This would set up three-way matches after Wrestlemania.

Yesterday, WZ reported (which has been picked up by other sites today) that there is tremendous backstage heat on Michael Cole for his homophobic Twitter comment made to Josh Matthews over the weekend.

In an update to that story, WZ has learned tonight that one of the reasons why Michael Cole has developed what's been described as a "big head" backstage, is because he is close friends with John Cena, and is considered to be "one of Cena's boys." The relationship between Cole and Cena is something that Cole refers to often, and a number of backstage sources have told us that Cole is never hesitant to "name drop" John Cena in conversations and mention their friendship. Cole firmly believes that if he were ever to be in hot water with WWE management that John Cena would definitely go to bat for him, whether or not that's actually true. We were told, however, that his relationship with Cena is not necessarily the reason why he wasn't punished more severely after the Twitter incident.

Additionally, we've been told that as of late Michael Cole has been likening his on-air relationship with John Cena to that of Jim Ross' relationship with Stone Cold Steve Austin. "Cole likes to think he's the modern day Jim Ross, and that he's the on-air voice of John Cena's career much like Jim Ross was for Stone Cold Steve Austin during that era," an insider told us this evening, "when you hear Cole say that he's the 'voice of the WWE' on TV, I can tell you for a fact that he 100% believes it to be true off the air as well.

I think Cole's loss to Lawler at Wrestlemania will be Coles last thing in WWE and they will fire him or put him somewhere where no one cares.

God, I really hope so! It's bad enough having Vickie "EXCUSE ME!!!" Guerrero on the show!

I would prefer 2 hours of Snooki to Vickie and Cole!

Two hours of Snooki wrestling, yes. But I think she might end up doing more wrestling than the entire divas division put together. :p I'm actually hoping Snooki shines a bit at WrestleMania, as she did show a bit of wrestling skills with that Stratus-beating Thesz Press.

Just watching yesterday's RAW. I have to say this is one of the most electric crowds I have seen/heard in a VERY long time! Truly added something extra to the show! Was brilliant!

I watched the whole Rock/Cena skit again from last night. If you look at Cena's face when Rock was setting up the people's elbow on the Miz, Cena looked like he was enjoying it as much as the fans in the stands. I thought that was pretty cool to see that.

In a very interesting Wrestlemania-week twist, CM Punk has literally challenged Stone Cold Steve Austin ... over Twitter!

It all started when THE HEYMAN HUSTLE posted a great FANTASY MATCHUP between Austin and Punk as part of their promotion of the WWE All Stars video game, which came out yesterday from THQ.

In a followup to the story, Punk tweeted the following: "I like how THQ acts like they don't know what would happen if @steveaustinBSR and I were to lock horns. Everybody knows. SXE > Beer."

You can see the original tweet here:

Within 3 minutes, Punk's tweet earned over a hundred re-tweets.

WrestleZone has learned that the decision to fire top WWE agent/producer Dave "Fit" Finlay came straight from the top. In an exclusive discussion with a key WWE insider, we learned the decision was made by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon himself, with no resistance from longtime Finlay supporter John Laurinaitis.

"Finlay's decision to have Miz interrupt the National Anthem was just not timely, and it was stupid," our source told us, "it's old old old old old old school heat that doesn't translate well in today's society. Fit should have known better."

Finlay was best known for working with the females, and we can exclusively report he was scheduled to handle the Trish Stratus/Snooki tag team match at Wrestlemania. No decision has been made yet as to Fit's replacement for that celebrity encounter. As of this posting, it is assumed John Laurinaitis will handle the match unless he pitches someone different to Vince McMahon.

The following is a new tweet from the official Twitter page of WWE Superstar John Cena:

"CeNation. Interesting morning. I was grossly mistreated by SouthWest Airlines this morning, I guess to the point of descrimination.... I was told by multiple employees that I was not fat enough to retrieve my scheduled reservation. ( yes u heard that right) For a company ... Who's corporate statement is "we will get u thru the RED TAPE", this morning was absolutely embarrassing. In other news THQ #allstars out2day"

This would be cool, but Austin can never wrestle again right? I thought he had some career ending injury with his back or knee or something?

Sting revealed in an interview with the Daily Star that World Wrestling Entertainment officials approached and offered him a match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVII, as well as induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.

He declined their offer.

"I wouldn't say it was utter nonsense, that's not true!" laughs Sting. "It's a dream match that fans would want to see. It was close. I'm glad things turned out the way they did.

?There are so many variables. Let's just say that I turned it down for the same reasons I always have. Something in me never trusted what would happen up there, based entirely on the track record with other WCW guys and everything that went on after Vince bought WCW.

"I wont be watching but I'll be asking what happened between Undertaker and Triple H."

Brock Lesnar adds that WWE had not approached him at all regarding an appearance at WrestleMania.

"They were smart enough to know that I am deeply involved in UFC, what I am doing now.

"Wrestling doesn't affect my life so much. I'm a fighter. The WWE will go on, and it will always be there, but I am in the UFC for as far as I can see. If ever there was an opportunity in the future to be on Wrestlemania, then I guess I have to say: 'Never say never.'"

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that in a meeting held yesterday, it was agreed upon that WWE would no longer be referred to as "World Wrestling Entertainment." Because of Vince McMahon's desire to rid the use of the word "wrestling" in the company name, it's being said that the company will solely be referred to as "WWE," and it will be branded as such.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is listing the following as the match order for WrestleMania 27:

* United States Champion Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan

* Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole with special referee "Stone Cold" Steve Austin

* Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes

* Big Show, Kane, Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov vs. Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel and Wade Barrett

* John Morrison, Trish Stratus and Snooki vs. Dolph Ziggler and Lay-Cool

* Randy Orton vs. CM Punk

* World Heavyweight Champion Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio

* The Undertaker vs. Triple H (No Holds Barred Match)

* WWE Champion The Miz vs. John Cena

Thanks to James Williams for sending in the following: I was at the Hotel where the WWE is staying for Wrestlemania Weekend on Friday night and to my surprise in walked The Nature Boy Ric Flair. I was able to snap a few pictures of Ric talking to Road Warrior Animal who was having dinner with his family (including his son James of the St. Louis Rams) & Paul Ellering.

Additionally, Jim Ross noted the following on Twitter: "Good seeing WWE (Hall of Famers) Harley Race and Ric Flair telling stories in hotel bar," Ross wrote. "Naitch says he's going to see HBK inducted."
