I caught bits and pieces of Raw while commercials were on during the Home Run Derby. I was pretty unimpressed how the "Anonymous RAW GM's" email was pre-printed and Cole simply read from the paper. At least in the past it was an actual email.

Raw was awful!

Backlund was only good thing, a walk down memory lane there

I was disappointed at the crowd when he came out. Nothing compared to his Royal Rumble entry twelve years ago (no surprised JR commentary either)...

BTW, I watched it through to the very end, and it definitely does finish at the "f**k this, I'm out" part

I agree Raw wasn't great, but everyone is putting too much on the reveal of Hornswoggle. There would have been complaining no matter what they did.

Now, if they have someone like Jericho now pick on Hornswoggle because of what he did to Jericho as GM, that would mean the storyline went somewhere.

No, nothing good can come from Hornswoggle unless you are under the age of 8. Seriously, the guy is useless. I hate saying that, but I have never even cracked a smile at him in his "comedy" bits. I am fairly positive that the majority of adults will agree with me. WWE could find much better roles to put him in, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. Sure, no matter who they picked as the GM would have received some heat, but of all people...come on.

Monday Night Raw - 7-09-2012

Bob Backlund on the ring - Completely embarrassing and unnecessary.

Hornswoggle as the RAW GM - Very stupid and ridiculous. I expected someone like Rick Flair. That was not even funny.

The AJ love triangle is really getting boring.

Seriously, what ever happened to good story writing? Where are those geniuses writers from the attitude era at?

The WWE is sinking faster than the Titanic. Every week I lose more and more interest in it. It simply sucks.

Yeah, it's starting to get to the point where I might end up going back to watching TNA full-time. I'm praying that the recent shows have been made deliberately crap so that the good stuff comes out on the 1,000th episode in a fortnight.

If the WWE wants to be #1 again, they need to do a few adjustments to their programming, and please feel free to tell me if you agree or disagree with this:

1. Bring Rick Flair or Stone Cold Steve Austin as the GM of RAW.

2. Bring Edge as the GM of Smackdown

3. Get rid of Hornswoogle....please.

4. Bring back The Boogeyman. He was awesome and scary.

5. Bring back Batista, Goldberg, Tommy Dreamer, Sabu, Sting and The Sandman.

6. Get rid of the damn PG-13 crap and start flipping fingers again. Enough of that kiddie bullshi....

7. Get rid of the stupid Divas that can't wrestle. I had enough of them personally. As much as I like Kelly, Kelly, sorry but the bitch can't wrestle.

8. Get rid of those idiot writers they have and hire or bring back the Attitude Era writers.

What you've posted is on the dream lists of a lot of marks out there (including mine), but unfortunately, there's not much chance of any of those happening...

1. Bring Ric Flair or Stone Cold Steve Austin as the GM of RAW.

Now there may be a good chance of Ric Flair returning, seeing as he's touring the indie circuit now (a couple of days ago, he got announced for a JCW ((Juggalo Championship Wrestling; yes the one run by Insane Clown Posse)) show). Not sure about Stone Cold though. I get the feeling he's done with wrestling now and just wants to enjoy his retirement at his ranch.

2. Bring Edge as the GM of Smackdown

Possible, but don't forget this is the WWE creative team we're talking about here. We can't even remember the last time they made a great creative decision.

3. Get rid of Hornswoogle....please.

The only way I could see him being kicked out is if some skit involving him provoked the fury of some midget group, and they pressured WWE to take him off TV; similar to what happened to Muhammad Hassan.

4. Bring back The Boogeyman. He was awesome and scary.

I loved him too when he around. I'm not holding out hope on him returning though, as we don't know why he got released the last time around. They could be some bad blood between him and the company.

5. Bring back Batista, Goldberg, Tommy Dreamer, Sabu, Sting and The Sandman.

No to Batista; I got bored of him a long time ago (and he left WWE because he didn't like the direction they were going in, so don't expect him back any time soon). Yes to the others; especially Sting. If only they could set him up vs. The Undertaker at a WrestleMania!

6. Get rid of the damn PG-13 crap and start flipping fingers again. Enough of that kiddie bullshi....

This definitely will not happen, due to Linda McMahon. WWE originally went PG due to Linda running for US senate (which she thankfully lost), so that critics couldn't use WWE to ruin her image. It failed. Nothing's gonna change any time soon, as she's running for senate again this year.

7. Get rid of the stupid Divas that can't wrestle. I had enough of them personally. As much as I like Kelly, Kelly, sorry but the bitch can't wrestle.

Agree 100%, but sadly, they're the eye candy of the company, so they're going nowhere (well, except maybe Kelly Kelly; I've heard rumours she's thinking about leaving soon).

You do know that Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara were the main Attitude Era writers right? Yeah they had Vince McMahon as a filter, but they wrote pretty much everything.

The primary problem with WWE is that they have gotten too big and have way too much programming. Not having true competition is a leading factor as well.

100% disagree. Guy is a legend - a real legend - and he was in great shape for nearly 63 years old - as opposed to Ric Flair.

yeah I agree, the guy looked like he could go for another title run :D

I was also wondering about the Big Show DQ. Who's writing these finishes? Surely even the guys in the match could have said something.

That reminded me of a WCW finish when it happened.

There's quite a lot of them around.
