Nilus
So you're referring to technical wrestling? In that case, you're correct. Taker is a brawler, always has been. But thats the style WWE has been for many years. Even Bryan, who is considered one of, if not THE, top technical wrestler in the world doesn't do much mat wrestling. Its just the way it is in WWE. In broad terms technical yes, but i'm referring to general speed, selling, and breadth and depth of moveset. I don't mean that in any disrespectful terms, he is very entertaining and carried WWF/E for quite some time. I just think he is more showman than wrestler. Nilus
Sting has nothing left to prove in TNA and he's simply wasting his time now - Dixie has no intention of being inovative and doing what needs to be done. She takes the easy way and hires Hogan and Bishoff to try to get ratings... personally i liked TNA better when those two were no where near TNA. Absolutely Sting has nothing left to prove in TNA. In fact, he has probably tarnished his image a little by hanging around and not being used as well as he should be. IMO, one of the biggest problems with TNA is them relying on Hogan. They rely on him for name value because he is a household name, but for the people who will buy tickets to shows and buy PPVs and Merch, Hogan is the complete opposite of a draw. He can barely make it to the ring and is not good on the mic anymore. I truly believe there is a role in TNA for the non-wrestling on screen manager. But they need someone people want to see. I think they need Steve Austin. If they could dig deep enough to get Austin to come in and play the on screen manager to come in and tear the place up even temporarily, viewership and revenues would skyrocket and would probably provide the boost they need. What I don't want to see is TNA fold. WWE *needs* a competitor and TNA aren't that yet. But imagine if they got to that point how good wrestling would be again... TNA needs to do what ROH does - focus on building talent, come up with good stories and build their guys... i personally feel TNA has destoryed AJ... and he use to be the face of TNA...what we've got basically is former WWE guys running the place driving it into the ground trying to capture the fame they had in the last 20 years. Imagine if they paid that high salary to someone who would actually bring a sizable return on it. Right now they shed their good talent and also have no hogan so lose-lose. I vote Austin for TNA. Nilus
Never gonna happen Maybe not. I think Dixie just needs to ask daddy for enough money to make it happen. *IF* that was able to happen ratings would skyrocket and would suit Austin since he would only have to work the mic and not wrestle. From listening to his podcast I reckon there is a slight chance he could be into a non-wrestling role. If he went back in, it would be with WWE. He has no reason to, however, other than a single giant match (which would obviously be at WrestleMania). He made plenty of money and spent it wisely. He is making money in Hollywood. No reason to take what would be a pittance to him to go to TNA. Getting a huge Rock-like pile of money to wrestle one match at WM? Sure. MightyJordan
TNA's problem is that the talent they have isn't any good. OK, I've gotta step in here. Despite all the cuts this year, TNA still has a good amount of top-level talent, whether they shine in the ring like Abyss, Manik, Hernandez, AJ Styles, Chris Sabin, Samoa Joe, or on the mic like Frankie Kazarian, Sting, James Storm, Bully Ray, or even everywhere like Christopher Daniels (in my opinion the best damn talker in the business, or "bi-zi-ness" as he would put it), Austin Aries, Bobby Roode, Kurt Angle. We'll hopefully see that talent shine at Bound for Glory this Sunday. By the way, it's nice to see more people talking about TNA with BFG on the horizon, even if it's not that positive. :p I'll throw up the card and some predictions... Pre-show - Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez vs. Bad Influence (Christopher Daniels and Kazarian) vs. Eric Young and Joseph Park vs. The BroMans (Jessie Godderz and Robbie E) - Tag team gauntlet match for a TNA World Tag Team Championship match later on in the night - I'm throwing my weight behind the Bad Influence once again becoming the world tag team champions of the world. Bully Ray © vs. AJ Styles - No Disqualification match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship - Got made a No DQ match via a tweet from Dixie Carter after Impact. Still, I'll go with AJ. Either the cavalry will come to save him or they'll have Hogan make a "shock" return to help him. Either way, Bound for Glory will likely be the beginning of the end for Bully; not the Aces and Eights obviously, that started crumbling a while ago. James Storm and Gunner © vs. TBA - Tag team match for the TNA World Tag Team Championship Manik © vs. Austin Aries vs. Chris Sabin vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe - Ultimate X match for the TNA X Division Championship - Hardy's first Ultimate X match, so they'll probably give him the belt. Sting vs. Magnus - Singles match - Normally, I'd be cheering for the Brit, but it would be a bit weird seeing Magnus beat Sting, especially at TNA's top PPV. Kurt Angle vs. Bobby Roode - Singles match - Angle's return to action, so this one's a no-brainer. ODB © vs. Gail Kim vs. Brooke - Three-way match for the TNA Women's Knockout Championship - Gail and Brooke are (sort of) in cahoots, so as is the way with wrestling storylines, they'll probably spend half the match bickering and fighting each other, leaving ODB to sneak the pin on one of them (obviously after a few minutes of teaming up on ODB, of course). riahc3
Hello, Booker had a short run in the WWE anyway - yea it worked good for the invasion and his KOTR win but after that..not much was done with him. Sting didn't deserve to get treated that way by Vince.. He'd constantly get stuck jobbing to lil guys plus hes got kids he wants to raise and TNA's lax schedule allows him to do that. I beg to differ. They gave him titles and a match against Triple Kiss Ass......I mean Triple H. You cant ask, at Booker's level, for a better run than that (as short as it was) Would have Sting been treaten like that by Vince? Honestly, we will never know. He's worthless in that role. Should have switched back years ago. Manik - never seen anything that impressive. Hernandez. He's big. Wow. AJ Styles - Only AJ worth anything is AJ Lee. Chris Sabin - Only relevant because he's been there forever. Also only reason he held the title. Samoa Joe - Could be impressive if he lost some weight and got into shape. Kazarian - Good talker. Sting - been over it. Storm - one of the impressive ones on the roster. WWE mid-card talent at least for sure. Bully Ray - could probably go back to WWE whenever he wanted. Daniels - never been impressed Aries - would probably get a WWE contract due to his history with Punk and Bryan in ROH. Roode - the big talent, in my opinion. The one WWE would take. Angle - not worth getting into. So if TNA closed today, I see three people WWE should take. Storm, Aries, Roode. They would also probably take Sting, Ray, and Angle if they agreed to a contract. WWE has a huge roster and not enough space for everyone as it is, so they would only pick the cream of the crop. Bryan Punk Cena (yes, Cena) Sandow Ziggler Ambrose Rollins AJ Lee Cesaro Wyatt Kane Natalya Now, if we did a 'who would you take' between the two companies, I don't think I would ever pick a same-level TNA guy over the WWE counterpart. Not to mention the part timers in WWE and its NXT talent which also consists of a lot of guys better than what TNA has. Heck, having seen Big E Langston in his NXT run, I think he has far more potential than anyone in TNA. I only don't have him on the list above because I can't say he is there right now.
