Well, Cena has been a heel before as well. I mean a proper heel, not like now, where he's essentially a tweener.

Remember the beginning of his rap gimmick?

Yes i remember his heel gimmick at the start when he feuded with Brock but that seems like a hell of a long time ago.

I wish he was even half as entertaining now as he was back then.

Layeth the Smack down, eating pie, shoving boots up candy asses.....to me those are funny and entertaining regardless of how much I hear them.........however, hustle, loyalty, respect.....those are generic terms so the guy actually has something to talk about. The only time I have ever remotely liked Cena is when he actually got creative when fighting back against the Rock in the "rap" style promo where he told the Rock to "blow me". That was the only time where he appeared to have a backbone.

EDIT: I agree that the Rock was never booked like Super Cena. There were so many stars in the Attitude era, the Rock could legitimately lose to Stone Cold, HHH, Undertaker, Mankind, etc etc. Super Cena can't lose a fair match to anyone with the exception of maybe Randy Orton if they were currently feuding.

I'm not saying that Rock isn't entertaining, just that he always says the same exact things.

Cena's shirts may say 'Hustle, Loyalty, Respect' but its not like he says those in promos. Other people bring them up, not him.

The booking is not Cena's fault. He doesn't decide that stuff. Thats creative, the bookers, the writers, etc. Can't hold that against him. They had a better creative staff in the Attitude era. Although, Austin never lost clean either. Nor Hogan. And regardless of anyone's opinion on The Rock, when he and Austin were both touring, Austin was 1a, and The Rock was 1b.

My point is this: The Rock was a great character. A legend.

The character we've seen this year and in that promo isn't 'The Rock' anymore. It has a lot more Dwayne Johnson in it than it ever did before.

Yeah, I know Hogan was a nightmare from what I have read. He wouldn't compete in a match unless the outcome was what he wanted. I wonder how much influence Cena has in the creative.

Agree about the bookers and the writers thing completely which i why i'm actually pretty excited about MITB because for the first time in a long time i've been interested in a storyline. Although that's mainly down to Punk.

I don't think Cena is anything like Hogan in that regard. I just think he's a company guy and willing to go with whatever they want.

If you're bored with Cena, why aren't you bored with the Rock? He's just as bland. Its probably because you only get tiny doses of him. Cena you see every week.

The Rock was not bland when he was on the show every week. He was consistently funny and said different things weekly. He's still not bland now either. Cena isn't often funny which is the main reason I still prefer The Rock. I do like Cena a lot though.

Again, Hogan and Austin never losing clean has a lot to do with the creative staff not wanting them to look weak.

Cena does have some creative influence (he asked for the feud with Punk, by all accounts) but its not like he can decide whats going to happen. The writers give them the outcome, not the other way around.

Thats exactly my point though. This isn't the same character, and that 11 minute video just proves it.

MiTB should be a great PPV. You have the two ladder matches, and both world title matches should be great as well.

But episode, do you not think this may just be something set up by either those two guys or the company? I mean the Rock's reply here was to Cena making a comment on a WWE tour to Australia last week which seemed completely random seeing as he's involved in a feud with Punk at the moment. Just the timing seems strange.

I'm not sure if Cena or the Rock were/are the same way, but I've read many stories about Hogan and Austin refusing to go out for matches if they outcome wasnt to their liking. The original plan when Hogan came back to WWE was for him to feud with Austin back in the day, but the two couldn't agree on an outcome, at least that's what "inside sources" said. Quite a shame, would have been a good one :)

I definitely can't wait for MITB though, I've got tickets for it this weekend right along the ramp, so it should be a good time. I've got my custom Zack Ryder T-shirt too, so hopefully I get on TV, lol.

No its definitely storyline and part of the feud. Its just same old **** is all. He used to be original every promo, while still including his catchphrases. Now he just says the same exact things.

I can't wait for Christian to win the title, only to lose it to the SD MITB winner pretty quickly :p

Everyone is still in love with The Rock because of what he used to be. He isn't that anymore. He hasn't shown anything in any of his promos except the ability to regurgitate the exact same things over and over and over.

I'll agree with this.

The Rock is no more.

I believe thats whats going to happen as well.

It would be a great addition to the current storyline if they play out Christian's reaction well :)

I suppose I can't really disagree with you until I see more of him. Unfortunately, we haven't seen much of what he used to do, including hilarious interviews with the backstage interviewers.

Don't forget the horrid backstage segments at WrestleMania.

Epic PPV best in years. Daniel Bryan winning the Smackdown MiTB was downright shocking. Every match was entertaining, even Show and Henry and the divas. But Cena and Punk told an epic story in their 45 minutes of work. Truly a great match. Couple botched spots, but it showed that Cena does have the ability to do more when the it's what the storyline calls for. Can't wait to see where they go from here.

Yeah when the crowd was chanting "You can't wrestle" at Cena I was laughing. Regardless, that was an epic match and a damn good PPV. I'd say it ranks up there with some of WWE's best PPV's ever in fact. ADR winning the RAW MitB wasn't to out of the blue, but Daniel Bryan wining the Smackdown MitB match was a shock (though not out of the blue). Of course, the biggest shocker of the night (other than the Cena/Punk ending) was Christian winning back the World Title from Orton. Will the Internet Wrestling Community (IWC lol) finally shut up now that Christian won the title back and he's a 2 TIME 2 TIME champ? Probably not.

As for the Divas match, I can't help but think that entire division (lol) is in total shambles because of Awesome Kong disappearing for 9 months now. It's like they don't know what to do with whom and just figured Kelly Kelly would be ideal right now (which she isn't, Gail Kim should be the top of the ladder in that division).

Anyways, back to Punk etc. I think the fact that Colt Cobana was ON SCREEN last night (among other things) tells the tale with this one. I think WWE and ROH are going to be working together on this one. How it plays out, who knows. I certainly expect Punk to be on RAW tonight, but I wouldn't be surprised if ADR shows up in ROH to take on Punk for the title. Should be interesting to say the least. If WWE doesn't screw it up that is...

I'd just like to say that I'm not part of that section of the IWC; I wanted them to stop giving Christian title shots! :p

And finally...

CM PUNK! CM PUNK! CM PUNK! CM PUNK! CM PUNK!

Hey I love Christian, so I'm happy he won the title back again. But a ton of IWC people went ape **** when he lost the title to Orton and figured that was the end of Christians main event push for the rest of his career etc. Well, he's champ again but who knows what's going to happen now. Vince doesn't think Christian is a main eventer or a money maker to be blunt. At least that's what the IWC kept saying. Well, now what? Why would Vince give him the title again if he thinks that?

Sin Cara suspended for first wellness policy violation

STAMFORD, Conn., July 18, 2011 ? In accordance with its Talent Wellness Program,

WWE (NYSE:WWE) has suspended Luis Ignascio Urive Alvirde (Sin Cara?) for 30 days for his first violation of the company?s policy.

Source: WWE.com

My thoughts:

I'm shocked about this one, but I don't know why.

Wow, really Sin Cara? It makes sense though, since coming to WWE, HHH has taken him under his wing so to speak. Probably told him to roid it up. :p

Yeah, I've no idea why people are freaking out over Christian. The only reason he won the title in the first place was because Edge was forced to retire. They couldn't just hand the title to Alberto del Rio like that, so instead, they decided to knock up a new rivalry (Christian/Orton), but it's just getting ridiculous now.

Let's be honest, if Edge didn't have to retire, Christian would never have had a world title reign simple because he's worked for "the enemy", A.K.A. TNA. It's probably the same reason why R-Truth still isn't a world champion, although unlike Christian, he didn't leave WWE for TNA and then come back; he made it big in TNA, then WWE signed him.

They did try to not show Cabana as much as they could, though. Couple of shots purposely left him just off screen.

If the angle is Punk is gone, doesn't that make Del Rio's MiTB worthless? Since there is no Raw title for him to cash in on? I know obviously he resigned, but storyline wise its a strange spot, and I wonder if ADR will address that.

I think they are going to give Cena a couple of months off here, let him rest and recuperate.

Are those beers in his fridge?

Canada Dry ginger ale.

1) HHH handled the whole thing, even before he signed. He was the one that pushed the WWE to get him

2) Rumor is that its pot, not roids.

The reason everyone was so upset is because the first title win for Christian was a big moment. Everyone enjoyed it. And then he loses it in his first match, on a taped show, two days later. They never even gave him a chance to prove he could hold the title and portray a champion. He'll get up to Summerslam this time before he loses it to Orton again.
