A recent study reveals that, in a stark reversal of convention, the majority of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Superstars? are valiantly struggling to get ?called down? from the company?s main roster to its more exciting and engaging ?developmental? league, NXT.

In the past, rookie wrestler honed their chops in NXT hoping that, one day, they might perform on WWE?s flagship programs Raw or Smackdown. But now the opposite appears to be happening, according to the study published in the Harvard Review of Sports Entertainment.

?I?m hoping that, if I add a bunch more moves to my arsenal and make my matches more exciting, I just might get a spot on NXT,? revealed John Cena in a candid interview.

Added Cena: ?Maybe someday I?ll be in the same league as Sami Zayn.?

Once considered a demotion, ?getting sent down to NXT? is now considered the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a WWE performer, given the high caliber of talent consistently on display in WWE?s farm league.

Randy Orton, a multi-time WWE Champion, recently tweeted: ?I?ve achieved many things in my career, but my ultimate goal is to win the NXT Championship in front of 150 fans at Full Sail University.?

Ironic that they put her one person away from Ryback!

Fair enough about WWE wanting to distance themselves from Chris Benoit after what he did, but this just makes them look silly. It's not like you can erase him from history. Everyone knows he was part of the WWE and that he won the match. Do they edit out the ending with him winning and celebrating with Eddie too?!

So they're (still) alive. Good. I've always wondered why they never managed to be REAL competition for WWE (because we know what real competition does to WWE). I mean, they have the talent, they have air time...what are they lacking? Money? Creativity?

I think it's more that hardcore WWE fans aren't willing to give anything else a chance. Or if they do, they compare everything to the big money and slag it off as low class.

I can understand that, but I see people everywhere complaining about WWE's lack of creativity these days, so why don't try something else? Quite a few stars from WWE went to TNA in the past, to me that would have been a good reason to at least give them a chance. In the old days, when wrestlers quit WWE for WCW, everyone shifted. I know that TNA it's not the same thing, but you see where I'm going with this.
