Marshalus Veteran Posted February 26, 2008 Author Veteran Share Posted February 26, 2008 I never saw (or heard) the drive when it was in a system. It was in a stack of drives that were ripped out of a bunch of Dell GX260/270s that had somehow made it into our server room. Last week we were cleaning up and found this stack of drives, and I carried them down to my office. Our network admin was in my office and started examining the stack of drives and found this one. We opened it up right there in my office and I watched him break the little "warranty void if removed" type seal over one of the torx screws. It had never been opened prior to this. My guess is that it was a Seagate, as most of the drives from that model system are but I will find out tomorrow.

spenser.d
It's probably an RIAA brand hard drive. Someone tried ripping a song from a CD to that drive and it destroyed itself... :shiftyninja: -Spenser
Marshalus Veteran Posted February 26, 2008 Author Veteran Share Posted February 26, 2008 The drive was older then I thought, but still interesting. It was a Quantum Fireball CR 8.4 AT out of an old Gateway PII.
