Yep just press L1 or LB when inside a cop car(must be in full stop) and you can access the laptop to look for criminals and you can even call for backup ahhaha.

Only quickly press L1 though, I kept bashing it until I shot out the side Window and blasted down 10 odd pedestrian's! :p

Where do you find the helicopters, or do I have to wait until I get to another island?

You can go to the Airport, but when I did yesterday I got an immediate 5 star rating. ;) I cannot confirm it, but I would suggest something like on top of Building's or you can always try out Multiplayer.

After playing the game I'm somewhat disapointed, everyone's throwing out 10s but it's more like a 9-. Story's great so far, the voice acting is really nice, and overall great detail. But then the graphics are not that good and the framerate is a bit jumpy between around 25/30 fps. Even San Andreas had better frame rate. It kills the gameplay a bit for this "little" detail.

LOL - because a 9 is such a poor score :D

Graphics are not the be all and end all, and shouldn't be a reason to mark it down. The sheer scope of the game is what gets it a well deserved 10.

All this San Andreas comparison crap is a waste of time. The framerate is fine, yes it dips, but not to a crawl.

I totally agree with you, I'm a sucker for smooth framerates so it's really </3 to see it lag so bad (360 version)

Got home from work last night to find it waiting for me, good old game.co.uk always deliver on time!

Played for a good 6 hours, 4 hours of single player and 2 hours of MP. The level of detail in this game just blows me away. I spent a good half an hour watching the TV in the apartment, and another half hour browsing the net in the internet cafe. I mean, they've taken the time to make a blogsite with about 10 visitable blogs, each with many pages full of blog entries... and that's just ONE goddamn website! As I said, the detail is immense. So much more I could write, but it would take far too long. Back to work for me! And then back to GTA tonight :D

Oh, sarcasm... about something I didn't say or imply...

Waste of time? Frame rate influences gameplay, a lot. It's a serious flaw that just takes away the 10 you said it deserves. And it got worse from the previous version. Should I be happy? You certainly seem to be.

Were people HONESTLY expecting a smooth, constant 60 fps throughout? We all saw the trailers, and we've all played past GTA games.

No, but constant 30 fps would suffice. Acording to you, chariots used to work and we've all used them in the middle age, that's why no one ever thought about evolving to cars. Games should get better not worse.

The framerate does drop (on both version unfortunately), but its not enough to ruin the game. Its hardly a deal breaker.

Most reviews have mentioned the framerate, yet still gave it a 10.

Not a deal breaker, but no 10 considering the implications. And most reviews suck anyway.

Each to our own I suppose. I think the majority of reviews have been decent.

If its not framerate, its screen tearing. Dev's are damned if they do, and damned if they dont.

If you want graphics, go play 3D Mark. The main point of GTA is the sheer scope of the game.

Oh I want to play, just not powerpoint.

Everyone, blame me for pointing a finger at "the best game of all time". How uncool of me for not sticking with the hype, oh I fail so much. :tears: :tears: blablabla.

I'm not blaming you or anything. There are some things I am not comfortable with this game as well, such as the swimming feeling when walking or the sudden brakes on cars. The point is, graphics or framerate is not a reason to knock the score from 10 to 9. Yes, framerate is important. But it's okay if it's not at a constant 30 fps. There is so much going on the game at any given point and it's a bit hard to maintain the 30 fps.

Can we get a quick summary of all 16 different game types out there? Reviews only discussed free roam, racing, co-op and cops and robbers (which were in the previews....wonder if they even played the full game before reviewing)?

Thanks

Spent the last two days playing this game and haven't really got a bad word to say...yes the steering is a little over sensitive but once u get used to it....damn i was powersliding round corners like no mans business

and the detail is just immense loving the the new radio stations...but i think the best bit is all the little stuff...flying through the windscreen..the toll booth!!! Man i see my summer already!!
