Oblivion
I wanted to know why there are some files in a system coloured automatically in blue colour. Any reasons for this weird behaviour? I've attached an image that will give some idea of the behaviour. DaveLegg Developer Posted March 18, 2008 Developer Share Posted March 18, 2008 That just indicates that the files/folders in question have been 'compressed' Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/626268-why-are-some-files-coloured-in-blue-in-windows-xp/#findComment-589276830 Share on other sites

Beastage
Like stated before me , these files were ntfs compressed by windows update because they are backups for installed windows updates should you choose to uninstall them, these can be deleted if you have no need to keep them. Volatile
blue = compressed (as many have stated) / green = encrypted. you can do this to some files yourself by: right click folder properties advanced Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/626268-why-are-some-files-coloured-in-blue-in-windows-xp/#findComment-589277660 Share on other sites
