Ok, this is how you do it!

First, download each of these files to your computer:

http://select.ww.home.playstation.net/home...duct-select.xml

http://select.ww.home.playstation.net/home...ntry-select.xml

http://pkg.ww.home.playstation.net/home/ww...000000001-E.pkg

Open each .xml file with notepad and change all the "off words to "on"...then save it.

(right click then and click save target as and dont change the file name when you save it....make sure you put it on your desktop so its easy to get to!)

Now download and install PS3 Proxy, PS3 ProxyServer Installer, or PS3 ProxyServer Installer (ENGLISH).

Once you start the PS3 Proxy program (find it in the program files folder if there is not a shortcut to it) select the box that says PS3 mode, and in the ip box put 192.168.1.96 and click start.

Now go to the Replace Files tab and click on the add button 3 times so you have 3 lines. On each line there is 2 boxes. Put the original link for each file in the left box, and put the link to the file on your computer in the right side box.

Now restart the PS3 and if everything is correct you will see an icon to install HOME Beta.

Enjoy

Alright i got it installed and working... First You have to download these files:

http://select.ww.home.playstation.ne...uct-select.xml

http://select.ww.home.playstation.ne...try-select.xml

When finished with the downloading edit these files with notepad ...

Just replace the off with on eg:

Code:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<products>

<product code="j1" xmb="on" />

<product code="uc2" xmb="on" />

<product code="cel" xmb="on" />

<product code="kr2" xmb="on" />

<product code="cek" xmb="on" />

<product code="mx2" xmb="on" />

<product code="au3" xmb="on" />

<product code="e12" xmb="on" />

<product code="tw1" xmb="on" />

<product code="ru3" xmb="on" />

<product code="cn9" xmb="on" />

<product code="hk5" xmb="on" />

</products>

Just copy paste that and well the other one is long so you have to do it yourself. when done with this ..... just overwrite your downloaded xml so that your title remains the same (Put it in your desktop so it would be easier )

http://pkg.ww.home.playstation.net/h...00000001-E.pkg

Download this on your desktop and keep it there. Now you have to download and install PS3 Proxy Server.

After installing put your ip address in the ip address bar.. (to check your ip just go to the network connection file and double click the connection you are using (wireless or LAN) and then go to the support be)

After inputting your ip address check the ps3mode thing then go to the Replace Files tab and click on the add button 3 times so you have 3 lines. On each line there is 2 boxes. Put the original link for each file in the left box, and put the link to the file on your computer in the right side box

go back to the first tab and press start

- Turn on your PS3

- Go to settings then down to network settings

- Go to Internet Connection Settings, pick yes when asked if you want to continue

- Pick if you are wired or wireless, press right

- Pick custom Address Settings, press right

- Auto-Detect the operation mode of the network device, press right

- Auto detect Ip Address Setting press right

- Pick auto MTU, press right

- Pick Proxy Use, press right

- Enter the your computers ip address (the one you entered in Ps3 proxy server leave the port at 8080 Press Right

- Pick UpNp enabled (doesn't matter much)

- Confirm settings

- Test the connection if its working then you got it right... restart your ps3 and then there will be Playstation Home icon in your XMB!

Basically some guys have managed to download Home version 1.0 on a "vanilla" PS3 account (not a beta tester account).

Works with firmware 2.20.

This has now started the rampant rumour mill that the open beta must be coming soon! And that it will be version 1.0.

Give it a go if you want, but I think it's just best to let others muck around :p It's been confirmed working by quite a few people, so this isn't a photoshop/hoax.

By the way, if you haven't read/noticed, you can't actually use it - The servers for the open beta are obviously not up and running yet, only for the closed beta.

Yeah, I think I'll wait, especially since you can't actually get on it. Too much work just to have a new icon that doesn't do anything :p

i'll give it a shot see what happens ;)

You'll have a fancy Home icon to pimp on your XMB to trick people into thinking you're in the beta :p

The beta is around 500mb just now, so people are asking why version 1.0 is only 192mb. Word is it's because when Home goes open/available to all, certain areas will be additional downloads if you wish to visit them. (Not paid DLC, just an additional download). I only assume that's to make the download as small as possible, as some people may not be interested in visiting theatre/mall/ect. Just guessing though.

By they way, here's a video, http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=VQfzcPLBQGY

wat a waste of time u cant connect anyways lol!

It's more the concept that 1.0 can be downloaded on your PS3, and it can actually be executed! It just doesn't connect to the servers.

Closed beta is on 0.8.3, and it's obvious internally, Sony would be ahead of that.

However with 1.0 on the PSN servers, and it being able to be installed/run, it's only logical to think a release could be sooner rather than later.

The beta is that way as well. You download your 'apartment' and everything else is an additional download when you enter a new area. Kinda of dumb if you ask me.

I followed that step by step and nothing..... no icon

It definitely works, here is an easier to follow guide

People are warning of "bans" and the likes. I don't see why you'd get banned. Yeah it's a workaround to get Home installed, but you aren't exactly stealing anything.

Now that this is widespread, Sony would do more harm than good banning anyone who downloads Home early. You can't get on till the servers are up anyway.

Too much work to have an extra cool looking icon lol. Even worse since you could get banned from PSN, and making another account takes too much time for me lol!

ideally thinking if this spreads rather then bans hopefully brings sony to release it quicker i think. either way hopefully they see it as a form of pre-loading rather then harmful or bad circumventing or anything :) who knows maybe i'll hold off then but i'll keep hold of the files either way if once it comes it should save downloading it maybe

I downloaded it and got everything working fine, with the Home icon under the Network, but when I loaded it, it said that there was an update available, and it said version .80. I uploaded the picture . Now that I've updated it, it is under Game and it says that there aren't any owners listed (which there aren't), so I can't use it. What did I do differently? How can I add users? Does anyone know? Sorry about the rotated image.post-251033-1207685393.jpg
