iron2000
lvllord's tcpip patch still works:http://www.lvllord.de/?lang=en&url=downloads Found another patch: http://hwrms.com/blog/?p=17 I'm not sure but does the lvllord patch just switches the SP3 tcpip.sys with a hacked/patched SP2 tcpip.sys? Or does it hack the tcpip.sys of the current version? And I found another hacked uxtheme.dll(5512) at Winmatrix. Should be the same thing, right? vincent
Here you go... hacked the file myself. If you have issues with it, sorry! Just to make sure you know, this is the v5512 file with the Hex edited, not just a v5508 file or some such. :) uxtheme_6.0.2900.5512_EN_checksum.zip Also, an easy way to patch it is using "Replacer"! http://www3.telus.net/_/replacer/ P.S. If this kills your PC, sorry! But it's working fine on mine, see: UPDATE - Fixed the checksum... let me know if there is anything else I missed!! :) Neowin needs you for Grafix again man

greven
I have a problem! :( I installed SP3 from the Windows Update, all fine. Restarted my computer and the current style was Windows Classic. Installed a Uxtheme from this topic and I could change my style again... but only the windows were styled, not the taskbar. The taskbar is still in Windows classic and I can't even apply Windows XP theme. :/ Help... Anyone with the same problem? See:
greven
It's solved. I don't know why but an instance of uxtheme.dll was in C:\Windows causing conflict. I had to download Move on Boot program to delete uxtheme from Windows root folder and now it's working good again. :)

Archeus
because those are meant for vista not xp :) On the site there is a tool that makes is possible, but its not compatible with SP3. "If you want to use this theme on any version of Windows XP, you have to download the XP Theme Patcher." I thought that this patchin tool i get here was the same. Guess not...? Andrew Lyle Global Moderator Posted January 9, 2009 Global Moderator Share Posted January 9, 2009 you shouldn't bump topics... but in this case it worked out for you. Sounds like your not replacing the old uxtheme.dll If you read the topic, it gives you this link: http://www3.telus.net/_/replacer/ it will replace files on your PC for you. If that doesn't work, check online for uxtheme replace Look, I even googled it for you, how to replace it manually: http://www.belchfire.net/index.php?showtopic=9001
Jonny Pickel
After replaxing my uxtheme.dll I no longer needed to use StyleXP. In fact I uninstalled it finally. Thanks a ton for working this one out by the way, I've been trying to correspond with TGTSoft for months before I finally got fed up and decided to see if there was a fix floating around out there. :)
