Windows XP Desktop tab

Hey guys I am working on a pc that had some trogens. I cleaned the system and went to the next problem the Desktop tab way gone. So I fixed that but it is grayed out I can not use it so anyont have a clue what I sould do?

Yes, it's a policy problem, gpedit may not show you the issue

But if you do a regedit and search for policies, there will be entries that lock the settings out (Y)

I still could not resolve the issue. I have looked all over the net and found nothing. I guess a fresh install on XP will work.

I have a feeling that it may not have been done properly.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop]

"NoChangingWallPaper"=dword:00000001

This shouldn't be set to 1.
