At the bottom of the main forum page under Board Statistics.

we did the calculations... how could we not make it? Last month was an excellent month, and know whos what dumb things celebrities will do to make one giant thread really popular in a short time, or what new tech news will floor the forum..

anything can happen

Yes I think it can be done. Every little bit helps.

We just need four threads to do it: one for Firefox bashing, one for Vista bashing, one for OS X bashing, and one for religion bashing. We'll be up to 8 billion in no time.

I am surprised that someone has not started a Win2k8 as a Desktop Thread.

I remember the Win2k3 as a desktop thread had a lot of action.

I just realized that Neowin will be 8 years old on October 1st 2008, wouldn't it be great if we can also hit 8 million posts by then!

Today, the stats are as follows ...

If we make it, I will randomly select an active poster (the coders can help me with that) and send them a retail copy of Windows Vista Ultimate (x86 or x64)

How about then then guys en girls!

um doesnt a retail copy of vista ultimate include both x86 and x64 versions?

mine sure does.

If I win I will have to build a new system in order to run it.

Windows Vista Ultimate

Recommended system requirements

* 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor

* 1 GB of system memory

* 40 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space

* Support for DirectX 9 graphics with:

o WDDM Driver

o 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum)

o Pixel Shader 2.0 in hardware

o 32 bits per pixel

* DVD-ROM

* Audio Output

Additional requirements to use certain features

* TV tuner card required for TV functionality (compatible remote control optional)

* Windows Tablet and Touch Technology requires a Tablet PC or a touch screen

Actual requirements and product functionality may vary based on your system configuration. Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor can help you determine which features and edition of Windows Vista will run on your computer.

While all editions of Windows Vista can support multiple core CPUs, only Windows Vista Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise can support dual processors.
