Shibby
Yes but with united he has better prospects. Either way, one of the clubs will be best for him. Rappy Veteran Posted June 4, 2008 Author Veteran Share Posted June 4, 2008 I wouldn't bet my house on him going to Utd or Arsenal.. Everton has just had a bid accepted for him today.. I think if he comes to Utd or Arsenal he may want some kind of assurances of being in the first squad.. where as at Everton that's guarenteed... so why shouldn't he sign for them?;) Yeah but at United or Arsenal he can stay at Cardiff for a season or 2. wolfman1380
If he does go to either of them i can see him spending alot of time in the reserves like so many before him only to be released when they've either coached any talent out of him or found hes just not good enough (no offence to any United fans but Man Utd have done this quite afew times in the past). If i was Ramsay i'd sign for the club who were most likely to give him first team football. Crazysah
If Arsenal sign Aaron Ramsay then he will probably come to Arsenal and we will loan him out for a season or 2 so he can get first-team football experience. Then he can break into the first team. Thats what we have done with one player (forgot his name) and now he is on his way back into the first team. The guy I am talking about was loaned to Spanish Clubs and now Wenger has applied for a Work Permit for him. leesmithg
Yeah but at United or Arsenal he can stay at Cardiff for a season or 2. Why would he go anywhere else than Arsenal. Just playing alongside Ces Fabregas would be enough. Arsenal will see to the future so when the 6 feet 5 inches rules come in we have enough decent British players in the first team. Rappy Veteran Posted June 5, 2008 Author Veteran Share Posted June 5, 2008 Man City Close on Jo and Ronaldinho Manchester City are the verge of signing Brazilian striker Jo, while Ronaldinho may not be far behind after both moves were approved by new manager Mark Hughes.City owner Thaksin Shinawatra had put all summer transfers on hold while he conducted a search for a successor to Sven Goran Eriksson. But now Hughes has been secured and the Welshman has given a move for long-term target Jo the all-clear, Thaksin is expected to complete his swoop for the CSKA Moscow forward. City's recently appointed executive chairman Garry Cook has confirmed that Jo is now expected to arrive at Eastlands. Secret "We have had a conversation with Mark Hughes about this because we wanted to see what he felt," said Cook. "But it would be fair to say we expect to see Jo at Manchester City." Meanwhile, Cook has reiterated City's desire to land two-time Fifa World Player of the Year Ronaldinho, who Hughes would also be eager to call upon next season. Ronaldinho is set to leave Barcelona this summer after falling out of favour at Camp Nou and Shinawatra has made no secret of his admiration of the Brazilian playmaker. But Cook insists City are equally keen to avoid any attempt to sign the 28-year-old turning into a publicity stunt. Competitive "We want to bring the best players to our football club," Cook added on Sky Sports News. "It is well documented that we are well down that path, but we also know it is a very competitive landscape. "We sat down with Mark and said, 'here are some targets, what do you think?' and he has been very clear in his thoughts and Ronaldinho is one of those. "But we don't want this to become a marketing exercise. Mark has to make the decision about whether he is in the football team. "We are not taking him at the expense of being a great football club." Martyn
Well he said he would make an announcement... Football exclusive: Cristiano Ronaldo declares for Real Madrid'I want to play for Real Madrid, but only if it is true they are eager to pay me and Manchester United what they have been saying they will' * Duncan Castles * guardian.co.uk, * Thursday June 5 2008 Manchester United must face the real possibility that Cristiano Ronaldo has played his final match for the club after the Portuguese winger publicly declared his intention to join Real Madrid at the end of the European Championship. Speaking from Portugal's training camp in the Swiss city of Neuchatel on Wednesday, Ronaldo made a keenly awaited statement on his future. The 23-year-old stated that he wanted to leave Old Trafford to sign for the Spanish champions if they made good on their promises of world record transfer fees and wages. Spanish media reports have placed the value of a Madrid offer to United at ?100m and the player's salary at ?15m a year. "I want to play for Real Madrid, but only if it is true they are eager to pay me and Manchester United what they have been saying they will," said Ronaldo in an interview with the respected Brazilian website Terra. "However, it does not depend on me." The issue of Ronaldo's future has been the dominant feature of Portugal's European Championship training camp, overshadowing the team's preparations and seeing questions raised about the player's state of mind. Hoping to prevent inquests at national team press conferences and post-match mixed zones, Ronaldo insisted that he would not speak about his choice of club again during the tournament. "It is important to send a message," he said. "From now on I will not talk again about this until the end of the Euros. It is not worth asking me because I will not reply." United have repeatedly stated that they will not allow Ronaldo to move this summer, but the club may now have to improve the five-year contract they agreed with the forward in April 2007. Given the scale of Madrid's offer, the player can expect to comfortably exceed the net ?10m that Michael Ballack receives from Chelsea each year. Zoom7000
Tottenham agree Dos Santos dealTottenham have agreed a deal to sign Giovani dos Santos from Barcelona. The Mexican forward will sign a five-year contract in a move which will cost Spurs an initial ?4.7m and rise to ?8.6m depending on appearances. Barcelona have retained the right to 20% of any fee should the 19-year-old move on from Spurs in the first two years of his spell with the club. And, according to the Spanish club's website, they will get 10% of any fee if he is sold later in his contract. Dos Santos first joined Barcelona in 2002 and came through the youth ranks at the Nou Camp. He broke into the first-team under former boss Frank Rijkaard last season and made 16 starts in all competitions and came on as a substitute 22 times in the campaign. Dos Santos also scored a hat-trick in the final league game of the season as Barca beat Murcia 5-3. More to follow. Source - BBC Sport Dos Santos and Modric, wow, Ramos means business for next season! Who else could be on the shopping list? Rappy Veteran Posted June 8, 2008 Author Veteran Share Posted June 8, 2008 Daniel Alves could not hide his delight after finally being told that his move to Barcelona was complete. The Brazilian was kept informed about the transfer while on international and will put pen-to-paper on a four-year contract, with the option for a fifth, when he returns. After seeing a move to Chelsea turned down last summer, Alves has finally secured his dream move for a fee of ?32million (?25.6million), that will rise according to his performances. "I am happy and very satisfied to be part of a club that is as great as Barcelona. I am delighted to have finally reached an agreement. It is a truly great club," he told RAC 1. "It is a huge motivation because this means that they have faith in my work. Martyn
I think Sevilla paid something like 475k for him in the first place, now that is a bargain :p Sevilla always mug clubs for money. Ramos, Reyes, Alves etc. Keita also went to Barca recently, but that was because they paid his buy out clause. Rappy Veteran Posted June 10, 2008 Author Veteran Share Posted June 10, 2008 Aaron Ramsey is to join Arsenal from FA Cup finalists Cardiff City in a ?5m cash deal, BBC Sport understands.Champions League winners Manchester United and Premier League giants Everton were also fighting to sign the 17-year-old Welsh wonderkid. But Ramsey has chosen Arsenal after the Gunners flew him out to Switzerland for face-to-face talks with boss Arsene Wenger, who is at Euro 2008. Unlike United, the Arsenal deal does not include a loan back option. Cardiff have confirmed that Arsenal's bid for their highly-rated youth academy graduate was the "best cash offer" for the young star. The deal that breaks City's transfer fee received record previously held by Cameron Jerome's ?4m switch to Birmingham City in 2006. Rappy Veteran Posted June 13, 2008 Author Veteran Share Posted June 13, 2008 Barcelona midfielder Deco will join his Portugal boss Luiz Felipe Scolari at Chelsea, BBC Sport understands.Reports in Portugal that Deco had met with Blues owner Roman Abramovich on Thursday were denied by the player in Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo. But Mike Sewell, BBC Five Live's man with the Portugal squad, said sources were tipping him to move to Chelsea. "They believe Deco will go with Scolari rather than join up with old boss Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan," he said. Bar?a confirmed recently that Deco was free to talk to other teams. Scolari takes over at Stamford Bridge on 1 July after overseeing Portugal's Euro 2008 campaign. The Brazil-born star joined Barcelona from Porto in 2004 after helping the Portuguese side win the Uefa Cup, Champions League and domestic league titles under Mourinho. He won two league championships with the Catalan giants, and was part of the team that beat Arsenal in the Champions League final in Paris in 2006. However, a series of injuries have hampered his season, and he made just 14 starts in Barcelona's La Liga campaign. Sewell added that Deco had left the Portugal camp on Thursday after being granted 24 hours' leave by Scolari. "He flew to Barcelona to sort out a person matter, believed to be the finalising of his divorce," he said. Martyn
Deco is a class player, he is the type of player that would be perfect for Liverpool. We are missing someone who can unlock a defence with the blink of an eye in the Kaka or Aimar mould. Albeit, he will not sign for Liverpool though because firstly we cannot afford him, and secondly because I doubt he is someone with the qualities Rafa is looking for at the moment.
