Brandon Live Veteran Posted May 26, 2008 Veteran Share Posted May 26, 2008 More fake pics,it's a blog, has no source over claims etc..http://wepokers.blogspot.com/2008/05/micro...7-for-2010.html Apparently we're building 17 different UIs for Win7, haha. I love the fact that Start++ is shown in one of them :) Some of them aren't bad looking, but they're all pretty geeky. And most don't look very functional. funkyjunky
Fake. Looks a great deal like Vista to me. Agreed. Also, on the page it even says that it has been confirmed fake.

The first screenshot reminded me of these http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/longhorn_preview.asp anyone remember these early longhorn phototypes? Guess we're back to the same thing...... ahh the circle of life Didn't Microsoft said they were thinking of removing the Start menu and using a different method altogether?Scirwode Yeah, thats what I heard. But then again out of the 13 years the start menu has been around it has only seen 2 major revisions with vista's being a minor one and XP being the major one. if they were to keep the start menu, then they would need to eirther do a minor update or rework the way we interact such as an launch center or a media center style layout. PL_ Veteran Posted June 4, 2008 Veteran Share Posted June 4, 2008 Didn't Microsoft said they were thinking of removing the Start menu and using a different method altogether?Scirwode I heard they were switching to a "start pie". After seeing the multi-touch it doesn't sound too unlikely.
EnzoFX
Good riddens to the start-menu, it is simply outdated and no longer makes sense, now that we have UI's that are so much more intuitive and user-friendly. The problem with the start menu is that it's trying to put everything there, when it really doesn't need to. Well I suppose it could, but proper organization would be needed. Still not a good solution IMO.

I love how it goes from OS X style icons to Linux style icons and back to Windows style icons. And we've got Aero, new styles, then a version of Aero that shipped with early previews (and lacked translucency)
