Since when did FIFA pay Man Utd 100 million dollars for their CL glory, when their job is to mediate tournaments that involve the whole world, from the youth to senior level? Also, injury time goals by Turkey do not make UEFA happy nor do they have any reason to. TV rights are settled before the tournament even starts so even if you're turn off your television, you still have to pay your broadcasting bills :p .

tv rights are settled before the tournament BESIDES the FINAL game. this has been going on for many eyars. final game sponsrships are different but usually the sponsors that were already in the tournament sitll get the rights.

only exception was switzerland and portugal.. and thats because portugal had already qualified

i believe you would also say right now that CL draws ( for quarter finals ) are not fixed as well.

football is one of the biggest markets in the world. and dirty things DO happen. uefa and fifa are not angels. remember the allegations against blatter?

just for one silly game.

the winnings after each advecement is higher.

if you qualify to quarter finals you get more than a million

for semi filans more than that and for final much more than that.

and than the winner gets way more money by fifa.

(depending on tv rights and their other incomes)

chelsea got a bit less than 50 mil througout the competition

yes tv rights will be higher in 2012 even if the games in euro 2008 were dull.. but now since euro 2008 is a kick ass tournament more tv stations will try to buy the rigjhts for 2012 and this will increase the tv rights' price.

I didn't realise that UEFA was only run by one person and that they earn so much money in the process :laugh: ! UEFA is not all about the Champions League, there's also the EURO championships, the youth championships of both the men and the womens teams, the UEFA cup, the UEFA supercup and a host of other things, not to mention the UEFA Super license and the referees training camps. Since when does UEFA earn that much money to pay the winners of the CL 100 million Euros/Pounds/Dollars? Prove it to me, not by your words, but finding the relevant article that states how much each winner and loser gets for their participation in the CL :p .

I think we just need to leave this situation buried. Yes, the game went over on the injury time, but that's the referee's fault. The ref is the reason for most of the controversial events in football, and Euro 2008 has so far had its fair share, especially with Ruud van Nistelrooy's "onside" goal.
