Nightz
I forgot about those. Now name some good RPG's on the 360  lost odyssey alone is better than the ps3's current rpg lineup. :shifty:
popisdead uk
Yeah, I regret buying my PS3. I believe it was a waste of money. I already own a 360, which I now think is the better console. There is just nothing to play on PS3! That being said however, I do use my PS3 for media quite a bit. MKVs converted to VOBs w/ 720p H.264 & 5.1 AC3 is great. I own UTIII, Ratchet and Clank, and Uncharted. R&C + Uncharted were both great games (R&C is my favorite series of all time). UTIII is awful, and was a waste of money. I wouldn't recommend a PS3 to someone who already owns a 360, but Call of Duty 4 and other cross-platform titles would make a standalone PS3 a great investment (in addition to Blu-ray). Sadly, the best multiplayer PS3 games are cross-platform (COD is a prime example) and I believe Live is better than PSN, so multiplatform is bought on my 360. Addition: I do not even want to rent MGS4, which is a system seller for lots of people. (Stealth games bore me) Wrong mate. MGS is not cross platform. +jamesyfx Subscriber² Posted June 17, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted June 17, 2008 The PS3 is just gonna get some dirty JRPG junk. So that's that. I can see Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts being made. Sadly.
popisdead uk
lol. Name some good ones for the PS3. :DMass Effect though is a fantastic game. I actually hope you people who only own a PS3 get Mass Effect 2 and 3. Hopefully they will release it in a package so you can get the first one also. When Final Fantasy is released you won't need any other RPG :D lost odyssey alone is better than the ps3's current rpg lineup. :shifty: I hated that game. As I said above, Final Fantasy will blow all other RPG's away.
Dirk
It's all personal preference. I haven't played a new Final Fantasy game since seven. They just don't do it for me. Also later this year Square-Enix is releasing two Xbox360 RPGs so let's see if they are any good. Also at this moment the MSG4 multiplayer just isn't that good. Maybe down the line when they add some more maps and figure things out quite a bit more it could be a really good game, but at the moment it just isn't. Like I said though people just like different things.

NextGen_Gamer
To anyone here that voted either "no" or "undecided": play Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and then change your answer to "Yes."
Dirk
For being what it is, which is a free multiplayer game in with the best game on the console, it is great. I play it now and I love it. It will be even better when they release addons for it.

I think it's quite possibly one of the best games I've ever been involved with. The whole thing is just epic. For being what it is, which is a free multiplayer game in with the best game on the console, it is great. I play it now and I love it. It will be even better when they release addons for it. Yep, its superb. Personally I would say that MGS4 is the best game available now on any platform - it's that good.
duritz
I'll have to agree with alot of you that I wasn't very happy when I first bought the PS3. Lack of games and not being able to play movie files originally put me off. I had a 360 as well and I played that much more than the PS3.That all changed pretty much when I bought Rock Band for the PS3 and of course COD4 & GTAIV came out, my friends & I played PS3 non-stop and was also the focal point of having BBQ's and Beer parties, everyone wanted to come over because (3 Bedroom House in the Hills) I was the only one that had one and my girlfriend seemed to want to come over more because everyone was there, her friends, man it's a blast now! Then I got heavily involved into the MKV2VOB project which when I started there were only about 4 Pages in the forum thread on it. It has grown to 116 pages and people are discovering they can play 720p/1080p blu-ray quality movies on the PS3 just by copying the files to the PS3 hard drive. So again another break-through which has brought me even closer to the PS3 and friends are always calling me to watch all of the new releases in HD. The Divx playback capability helped as well but I'm more interested in High Def programming and movies. I recently sold the 360 because there is no need for it. I stopped playing it and most games that I want to play anyways are not exclusive to the 360, Gears of War 2 is coming out which I really want to play but can't justify keeping the console around just for a few releases. Anyways, so that pretty much sums up why I like my PS3 over any consoles I currently own, Oh and I can still play Tekken 3 :D you live in THE HILLS? california? MGS4 is more than a game; it's an interactive cinematic experience. It's an emotional rollercoaster ride that will change your life. And it is my new all-time favorite game, which is suiting, since up until now the original Metal Gear Solid on PSone has been my favorite game (a title it held for an incredible 10 years). Even cooler is that MGS4 and MGS represent the only two console titles in my top-ten list, as all of the other games on it are PC.

Matrix XII
I've had one for 3-4 months, and I have to say I'm not too impressed. It freezes on a regular basis and I know I've said this before, but I find the load times (even after installation) excessive. I can only go on what I've used and the PS3 has frozen on me a ton and my 360 (launch day 360 btw) I've hardly had any problems with.

Rookas
I clicked no, but I'm not unhappy that I bought it. I'm just not thrilled with the thing right now. There is still plenty to play on the 360, and I tend to buy the 360 version of all multiplayer games since I have more 360 friends. I did get MGS4 and Grid recently on PS3 so it's been getting some play finally, but those games have to compete with Ninja Gaiden 2, GTA4 and CoD4 that still get played constantly on the 360. I know it'll improve in time, but for now it's just another one of my shiny toys that gets played with on occasion, nothing i'm in love with. Also, my most played game on PS3 is still Stardust, that little game shames any retail PS3 game right now.

I suggest you call Sony and have it checked out since you still can, because the PS3 freezing is not a widespread issue TBH. It is not really even a small known issue quite frankly. The one thing that can be said for the PS3 is it is pretty damn reliable and well built. And although you have had much better luck than most, I hate to say this but I can pretty much confidently say enjoy your 360 launch console while it lasts. I too was just like you and thought my 360 was okay, I was personally close to 2 years in with owning mine, and I am currently now on my THIRD 360. 2 RROD, and 1 screwed Drive. I hope I am wrong, but it is WELL documented the launch 360's are not very reliable. So honestly, get your PS3 checked, that is not normal, not at all, and I do not care what console you have, no one should have to put up with freezing on a regular basis. Or any other issues for that matter.

LightIdea
I'm very happy with my 40GB PS3, I traded my 360 + 36 games + Accessories and didn't look back. I swapped out the HDD for a 320GB and have 2x500GB External drives plugged into both ports. My only gripe with it is that why didn't they also add two USB ports on the back of the PS3? I have all my DVD's archived onto my external drives, and I put them away in storage and I can watch a movie with ease through the XMB. I haven't purchased MGS4 yet, and probably won't any time soon (damn budget!). But I currently have GTA4, Burnout Paradise, GT5:P, GH3, and my latest addition; Time Crisis 4, that game is just awesome, I can remember my last Time Crisis game was on the original Playstation, haha. I can't wait for 2.40 to come out with the whole in-game XMB, I missed being able to play my own music while playing games :) YAY!

Vortex566
I have to say the PS3 is not my favourite console. Which is sad I really thought it would be. I will buy a console for games and it seems that this generation the games I like to play are coming out on the 360 and not the PS3. There are of course exceptions to this rule. That rule being a certain game called Metal Gear Solid 4. I would have paid ?350 for that game no problem. My one question is where are all the rpgs ? The Playstation brand has always had the most role playing games on it's systems. It seems now that most rpgs are going to the 360. I for one reason own a 360 for those games. Before people start going on about FF13 lets be clear we won't see that in the UK until later 2009 maybe even 2010. Then we have Kingdom Hearts when ever that comes out.
