Aerrow
And why can't you disclose the source? And why isn't the article you showed us in English? Microsoft is primarily a company that speaks English.

No, but I suppose they could build everything else on top of it in C# or F#? Would certainly shorten development time....

4CxbqFxVnstmA Veteran Posted July 6, 2008 Veteran Share Posted July 6, 2008 It is probably true that there will be a Windows 8 and maybe even a Windows 9. But it seems we know very little even about version 7, except maybe that 7 is a lucky number.

neufuse Veteran Posted July 6, 2008 Veteran Share Posted July 6, 2008 BS. It is not possible to build an O/S kernel using interpreted code in a language such as C# or F#. Complete and utter fake. Yeah it's littearly impossible, because at some point you need a machine code level interperter... which almost always has a machine level kernel... even MS's internal demo managed kernel has a native code kernel under it
Thetemptrary
That source seems fake.Windows 7 is still on planning stages, how come they announce Windows 8 and 9 when,Windows 7 has no complete concept outlined? Windows NT Kernel is amazing despite what people say about windows,it has evolved in a mature, very adaptable code platform. Rebuilding from scratch will bring again highly costs to all the industry to adapt,it could be close to a disaster.

Rebuilding from scratch will cause many incompatibilities in this wolrd,it could be a disaster. Windows 7 is well beyond the planning stages. Development is well on it's way, as a matter of fact, expect to see a beta before the end of the year. And as for the validity of this information, it's complete BS. The NT kernel isn't going anywhere any time soon. And if they did rewrite windows from the ground up, it sure as hell wouldn't be managed code.
