Robbie Khan Reviews Posted September 2, 2008 Reviews Share Posted September 2, 2008 Oh and it started off so well! Dedicated Porn Mode included! I like it, it's not what I'd use day in day out as I have various extensions in Firefox 3 that cannot be replaced for ease of use and simplicity (BBCode extension, FireFTP, AdBlock etc). Be good to see it develop into something profound though.

Julius Caro
Wow, it's so fast! Much faster than FF3 and Safari, but slower than Opera. Performs amazing, three tabs open, yet only 16MB of RAM and 21MB virtual memory. I don't think any browser can compare with the memory performance. 16 mb ram? all the processes combined? Admodieus
I really like it so far. It's lightning fast, it looks good on Vista, and it has somewhat like Mozilla's Prism built in.
PL_ Veteran Posted September 2, 2008 Veteran Share Posted September 2, 2008 I like how it highlights the domain, I saw a FF extension that did that. Come on, Mac version!

tsupersonic
16 mb ram? all the processes combined?Yeah, I realized there were a few processes, but with 3 tabs open, it was consuming 16MB, 10MB, and 12MB so total of 38MB not bad.
11222111
seems to work for me with exception of mouse pad scroll will scroll down but not up very frustrating
giga Veteran Posted September 2, 2008 Veteran Share Posted September 2, 2008 Super fast for me, even on Neowin which I was having problems with earlier. Having no smooth scolling though is really upsetting just simply because I'm so accustomed to it.It's great that it's so minimal but I'm truly disliking the blue. It's a silly complaint I'm sure, but with other things I use it just stands out like a freakin sore thumb and makes it very noticeable that I'm playing on the internet. I also can't find a way to clean my history out when I close the browser...while I haven't tested it to see if it's automatic, it IS very important for me since I'm browsing at work most of the time. Well okay, I take that back, I did just find how to clear it when I want to..but not automatically upon shutting the program down. incognito mode. maplecookie Veteran Posted September 2, 2008 Veteran Share Posted September 2, 2008 It imported my bookmarks and settings just fine but I didn't try it right after install with the prompt, I imported them through the link in the controls.
Neyht Member Posted September 2, 2008 Member Share Posted September 2, 2008 (edited) The loading time on gmail is amazing. It's faster than firefox 3.1. I kinda expected that though. I can only scroll down with my touchpad, not up. That's a pretty annoying bug. Finally got sunspider running....or not. azcodemonkey
Man, it's unbelievable that people are bitching about a "BETA" product. That is the biggest reason I hate writing software - the ******* clients. It's running really nicely for me in a VM on Vista.
Bubbabyte
how did you find the incognito mode? Also, i looked through everything and can't find a plugin section.. i'm hoping an adblock plugin will be released soon, then this thing will be gold. maplecookie Veteran Posted September 2, 2008 Veteran Share Posted September 2, 2008 incognito mode. Okay, totally didn't see that before. THAT is brilliant! It's in the pull down for "Control Current Page"...at least that's where I found it. Maybe somewhere else also?

This is public release number 1 - it's pretty damn impressive in that context quite frankly! i'm hoping an adblock plugin will be released soon, then this thing will be gold. You mean you think Google, who advertise heavily on the net with AdWords will release an ad-blocker? Hah...

Hurmoth
So anyone know how to update the WebKit or is that built in and we must wait for Google to update that?
1759
Installed and imported all my FF bookmarks fine on my Vista desktop through RDC. Wasn't sure if it was just RDC or Chrome, but it did seem a bit on the slow side. Other than that, I like it a lot.
