Save of the year so far by Labarbera. Vancouver got him less than a week ago for a 7th rounder after both Luongo and then backup goalie Sanford went down groin injuries. He's been tremendous so far IMO and if I were Sanford, I'd be worried about my job. Just look at this save. And it's just one of many amazing saves he's made since coming to Vancouver. Not bad for a 3rd stringer ;)

So the Leafs picked up Brad May from Anaheim today for a 6th round draft pick. Hopefully he will bring some veteran leadership to the room that appears to be lacking this season. Hopefully this is one of many trades we will see from Brian Burke in the coming weeks.

ohlund must have been watching crosby and semin fighting....

oh yeah, leafs got spanked, prop! You guys just lost to a team with no starting lineup and no starting goalie, also no bodyguard either.

Grabovski is a bitch and should get suspended for pushing the ref, sergei kostitsyn would rip him apart

I doubt he's going there, and you're giving up a lot.

There has been a trade offered, but I didn't hear anyone say they were expecting the deal to be done.

I bet Vinny would want to leave Tampa and get out of that horrible mess.

I don't think they would be stupid, but it could work for both parties.

If I'm Tampa, it's pretty hard to give up your captain for an outstanding player for receiving underachievers that were mentioned in the deal.

It's going to be sad to see Sanford go. Labarbera played pretty well, and as much as I like Sanford, I don't think the Canucks will be keeping him. Labarbera is a better goaltender, and will probably backup Luongo when he comes back from injury (on Thursday).

On the positive note, I'm looking forward to a resurgence among the standings from the Canucks. With Sundin taking form, and Luongo back in net, things are looking good. The way we played against San Jose was very good. Sundin could've easily had a hat trick that night if not for the puck going right into their goalie's glove every time :p

Rumour has it Scott Neidermayer(sp?) might be heading over to the Canucks around the deadline...we do have the cap space.
