canucks suck, habs are on fire(without a first line and a starting goalie btw)... all is right :)

that's how you do it richards...

Too bad they won't go anywhere in the playoffs, just like I called last year.

I saw Milan Lucic at the Vancouver Giants game tonight. Absolutely one of the most exciting players in the NHL today, although he was at the game merely because he is injured.

The Vancouver Giants- Now there's a team that Vancouver should show more support for.

I'm sure all of you have heard about the suspensions to the players who did not go to Montreal for the All-Star weekend.

Staying home for All-Star game comes with a price

MONTREAL (AP)?Sure there are lots of NHL stars in Montreal this weekend. It?s the ?All? part that is a bit misleading.

Injuries, family matters, and the desire to get a few days of rest in the middle of a grueling hockey season are certainly legitimate reasons for some to stay home when the opportunity presents itself. However, if the All-Star game is going to remain a viable spectacle in most seasons, the biggest names in the game need to show up.

Sidney Crosby got it half right on Friday when he arrived in Montreal to meet the media.

It was announced on Thursday that a knee injury would keep the NHL?s most famous name and face out of Sunday?s game?the second straight year he was forced to miss the contest?but in order to maintain his eligibility for the Pittsburgh Penguins? first game after the break, Crosby had to fulfill some in-person obligations during the weekend.

?My plan was to come here from the moment that I decided that I wasn?t going to play due to injury,? said Crosby, who received a record 1.7 million fan votes. ?I had a talk with (commissioner) Gary Bettman as to the capacity of me being here.

?I obviously wanted to be here, but still want the focus to be on the guys that are here, too, and not the fact that I?m coming.?

Nicklas Lidstrom and Pavel Datsyuk of the Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings also turned down their All-Star invitations, citing injuries, but they didn?t make it to Montreal and now will sit out Tuesday when their club returns to action against Columbus.

. . . .

?The only guys who can answer that are the guys that are hurt,? said New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist, a first-time All-Star. ?It?s easy for other guys to say he?s not hurt enough. I can only say I am really excited to be here.

?This is the All-Star game. Obviously you want the star players to play, but if they?re hurt, they?re hurt. There is nothing you can do about it. I don?t think anybody else should comment.?

That didn?t stop the questions and some hemming and hawing with the answers.

Many seemed uncomfortable to pass judgment on others, even though they likely are dealing with their own aches and pains.

?You want to have the best players here, and hopefully everyone has that feeling, as well,? said Carolina Hurricanes forward Eric Staal, a three-time All-Star. ?I enjoy being here. I love being a part of it. To be named is an honor and it?s something that I will continue to keep coming to if they ask.?

It was only a game for the last 15 minutes or so. The first 2 and a half periods were fluff.

And what's with Lundqvist? He let in more goals than the other 2 put together.

I missed the first two periods...Only got to see the third. I was glad I only saw the last period. It was a little too slow lol But was still a little fun to watch.

Do you think the lightning will make the playoffs rajput?

eight points out, you guys could pull it off but i doubt it. Just like i said at the start of the year, i don't think tbay has any defense or goaltending they can rely on and that's going to kill them. You guys need to realize this and give us vinny :)

If the Lightning part with Vinny their going to be finished. The ten fans that show up to the games will leave too.

That said, I'd like to see him in a Habs jersey. The habs will become a major contender with his addition. However I think this year, the Bruins will be in the finals, Savard is a magician.

PS Hopefully the Canucks come out of the break a new team :p

^ you gotta ignorant to completely believe that. He also said earlier that no player was untradeable. wayne gretzky got traded you don't think there is a chance that vinny will? If you are the financially strapped lightning and you have a chance to to get out of a 10 year contract and in exchange get some young cheap talent why wouldn't you take it? Especially when your team has virtually no chance of making the playoffs this year and who knows when they will be a contender again.

Does Montreal even have the cap space for Vinny?

I know the Canucks have enough cap space for another top 6 forward or an offensive, puck moving defenceman (Kaberle, Kubina?)

we do have the space for vinny for the rest of the year but things will get interesting next year because the habs have 11 UFAs. In terms of vancouver getting a top d-man it's possible, but they still have to resign ohlund and their have been rumours that if he doesn't get signed by the deadline they may deal him (habs have been linked to that and i would love it because i think he is the best defenseman on that team). Montreal is also on the same boat in terms of needing a dman for the PP. What i like about montreal position is that they have a retarded amount of depth and can easily get rid of some younger guys to acquire talent.

I'd like to see Ohlund get re-signed for a few more years. He is easily the best defenseman on the Canucks. I'd imagine he will stay, especially now that we have so many Swedes on the team right now.

Canucks still have room...I think about $3 million left?
