Muslim Massacre game pulled, along with a genuine apology?

How is it pedantic to point out there is a difference between something you're born with and a set of beliefs that you choose?

Because of the focus on a single word, rather than the far more important topic of inciting and glamorizing hate toward a specific group. ;)

I suppose I should have used the word "myopic" (as in focus on a single word) rather than "pedantic". But I suppose I can look forward to a multi-post analysis of how I once again chose a less-than-appropriate word.

erm, i don't see an apology, the site looks the same as when it started and the download is still active

yeah you are right... it seems to be back on

i had to download it with all that hype surrounding it :)

it was actually amusing :p ( as a click shooter )

Yeah, we noticed. Its very strange that he puts an appology like that up there only to pull it down and change to a downloadable game :s

@steelhand, so you want to put the whole Middle East in one boat? Come to Qatar or the Emirates.

Qatar houses the world's FIRST Freedom of Media center. Qatar also is host to religious inter faith dialogues.

There are religions and races here AND none of them insult the other.

i see , Al-jazera come to my thoghts ..

what does religion come to do with races o.0

Qatar...sorry, I got reminded of that Transformers scene in that place where Blackout totally whooped America's ass!

In an ideal world, religion would not exist. Therefore, this game would not exist. Sadly, this is not the world we live in...yet.

Deleting the game even from the creator's server, HDD and backup drives will not truly kill it off. Others could have downloaded it and may, in time, re-release it with alterations or none at all. So it's true that once something is out on the internet, it can never truly be destroyed.

and your starting your neowin adventure with that post?

to me a game is a game as a matter of fct not so long back hizbullah released a game called "under the ashes" where you play the role of a jehadist fighting the IDF, no real fuss perhaps because the game didn't have a title that specified a creed.

for example BF2 has the MEC middle east coalition, that speak in arabic making them muslims for the larger part, so no one even notices that or gives it any attention because its not a direct insult, now the game under discussion was called say fight terrorism and had maybe different modes of play as in chose a faction i don't believe it would cause such a controversy after all there are numerous games that have the middle east as a setting.
