Protected OS Files Problem

Recommended Posts

I recently re-installed Windows Vista w/ SP1 using a slipstreamed ISO and after setting it up with all the regular apps that I use I discovered this weird problem.. The Documents and Settings folder shortcut (usually hidden in Vista) and the All Users folder (also hidden) have become visible and I'm unable to hide them again.. I hope anyone can help me with this

Hi open a Command Prompt as Administrator.

Make sure it is in C:\ (If not just use "CD .." no quotes until it gets there)

now type:

attrib +S +H "C:\Documents and Settings"

attrib +S +H "C:\Users"

Hopefully that works :)

Thanks for the help.. Initially I had to remove a trojan and some other malware which was causing the problem.. The issue is now resolved
