shakey
Ah, such great news. Good to know Valve is still numero uno :) I was a little worried in their wording earlier, but should have known it would be free. Valve has never screwed a customer over that I know of. And this is the reason why I purchase their games :) Go Valve, you will always have my support as long as you keep up this kind of work. Always giving us what we paid for and more. Dance.
That's nice. I hope its a decent DLC and does add something interesting to the game. Currently the game is terribly bland and I can't stand it anymore :(.

+shift. MVC Posted February 11, 2009 MVC Share Posted February 11, 2009 Awesome. Frankly, even if they had charged for the DLC, it wouldn't have stopped me from buying their products.
Denis W. Veteran Posted February 11, 2009 Veteran Share Posted February 11, 2009 After the amount of updates they've done for a freaking NINETEEN DOLLAR game, I'd be very surprised if they took a different approach to Left 4 Dead when the Team Fortress 2 class update packs has been working very well for them. The fact that they keep their games constantly up-to-date months and years after its original release makes their pricetags well worth it. After glacing at one of your last posts Audioboxer, I'd have to agree with you. Few companies these days fail to see beyond making a quick buck out of games, cashing in on movie franchises, or simply releasing a game on a platform and port a piece of **** to the PC and give jack squat about post release support. shakey
It would have discouraged me a great deal. Valve had never done anything like that before. Hell, before they started with Episodic Content releases, when we first heard about that strat, a lot of people were a little un-nerved. The nickle and diming of the customer is wrong. And to release unfinished work, or work that you leave unfinished , just to get the additional money the extra content can bring in is wrong. And when companies are allowed to do that, it can be hard to tell what their real intensions are. How will we know what we are paying for is what we really need. Or everything could end up like the Wii. Sure , it does what it needs to, but to do what you really want it to do, you have to buy a bagillion different accessories so that the pointer is more accurate for that extra depth... Not sure if my rant made too much sense... i get lost in these things lol.
+shift. MVC Posted February 11, 2009 MVC Share Posted February 11, 2009 Now if only they would fix the god damn melee, the Smoker's tongue, and the early tank spawns in versus I'll be one happy guy. :D
Denis W. Veteran Posted February 11, 2009 Veteran Share Posted February 11, 2009 I'd like them to first do something about the equal opportunity spawn thing for the two 'tough' super Infected, tanks and witches. Instead of making them spawn at roughly the same point for both teams, they should spawn at random points in the map - BUT in case one team doesn't get a witch or tank or both, then the same will apply to the other team. That way the second team won't be that well prepared to fight off a tank compared to the first. But in any case, early tank spawns are hilarious *cough* :p Smoker tongues - THAT ****ES ME OFF when I click while the circle's red - oops, too late, it breaks. Click it while the circle's still white - it wraps! :pinch:

StealMySoda
Now if only they would fix the god damn melee, the Smoker's tongue, and the early tank spawns in versus I'll be one happy guy. :D It is quite funny when tank spawns when you haven't even left the safe room. But tanks at the beginning of a game are generally useless provided the Survivor team aren't a bunch of noobs they will all still be green and the damage you can do is limited (due to their speed). Late tanks for the win.

Yeah, I'm surprised at the Xbox 360 DLC part. It helps to be skeptical though, just in case they had the slightest intention of leaning towards a for-pay model the backlash from the community can reverse that. /SploodgeThe time AJ, Rajon, DL and I played and all fell over the elebator edge was one of the funniest moments I've had on XBL ever. Still makes me laugh thinking about it! Love it (Y) Was it the small elevator-less elevator shaft in No Mercy's finale right before the ladder? Some of the best moments I've had are survivor denials done inside a map's safe room. Examples: In here, everyone except the last survivor were incapacitated. Our hunter managed to pounce down the last guy right after the door shut. We constantly hammered the survivors preventing them from being able to shut the door. And if they tried to, there'd be a smoker who'd drag someone out, disbanding the survivors and allowing a boomer to mess things up. :D There are also early fails resulting in the enemy team getting a score of less than 10.
