Srugie Veteran Posted March 1, 2009 Veteran Share Posted March 1, 2009 Low/Medium.I have a 3ghz C2D, 2 gigs ram, 512mb 9600GT and I get less than 25fps even when all settings are on low. Putting settings higher doesn't seem to make much improvement to the graphics though, theyre always quite jagged and fuzzy. Benchmark is rather useless, it always gives around 10fps more than you get ingame. I guess I'll pass on getting this game until they optimize this game better for the PC. Samn9
Yea. It really is such a shame, the game itself is one of the best I've ever played but it's just ruined by all the technical problems. The multiplayer could be good, but its laggy (there arent any dedicated servers for it) and cheating is so ridiculously easy to do. Why couldn't they have let Valve do the port, then the game would be perfect :( Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/690176-gta-iv-for-pc-official/page/35/#findComment-590648198 Share on other sites

The_Decryptor Veteran Posted March 3, 2009 Veteran Share Posted March 3, 2009 A BSOD is software (i.e. drivers) screwing up or hardware failing. You might have better than recommended but that's not going to help if the driver is diving by 0 when it tries to write memory. Tech Star
I get the BSOD's as well, but w/e. On the revenge mission (the one after the wedding) when I am climbing onto the helicopter after jumping off the bike it tells me to hit the "space bar repeatedly", I hit my space bar as fast as I can and I can't get in. Lyric
This game has a huge memory leak issue for Vista, I hope they fix the RESC10 (Not enough video memory, Please restart) error in the 1.0.3 patch, if that patch ever happens. I get about 3 hours of play in before the game starts stuttering every now and then, and after about 5 hours or so, if you ever hit "ESC" after around that time it will crash the game and give me the error: "RESC10 - Not enough video memory, Please restart your system" My system runs it fine up untill a few hours into the game....E8400 @ 4.1GHz, GTX 260 216 overclocked to 720/1440/1107 Benchmark results: Statistics Average FPS: 59.76 Duration: 37.28 sec CPU Usage: 91% System memory usage: 95% Video memory usage: 89% Graphics Settings Video Mode: 1680 x 1050 (60 Hz) Texture Quality: High Render Quality: High Reflection Resolution: High Water Quality: High Shadow Quality: High View Distance: 26 Detail Distance: 50 Definition: On VSync: Off Hardware Microsoft? Sethos
You need to disable video capture and add a restrict memory command, then it'll work just fine ( The restrict memory command I can't remember, find a guide and see which numbers you have to add, corresponding with your amount of RAM ) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/690176-gta-iv-for-pc-official/page/35/#findComment-590664816 Share on other sites

The_Decryptor Veteran Posted March 6, 2009 Veteran Share Posted March 6, 2009 I use Simple Native Trainer and Handheld Teleport Device via the .NET ScriptHook (using xliveless to load that) Edit: Yeah, toggle tank mode on and off (F1) to give the car 300 health, after a while you won't be able to drive it at all but that's what the + and - keys are for. sundayx Veteran Posted March 21, 2009 Veteran Share Posted March 21, 2009 I haven't touched the game since it first launched (PC) and I completed it. Has performance really drastically improved?
