He obviously left soul society long enough for no one to remember the last name Kurosaki, or, his father was actually part of the 5th unknown royal family. And maybe that 5th unknown royal family had tie-ins with hollow powers / VL and that is the reason we never hear about the 5th royal family... because maybe they were outcasted. Dunno, I have had many discussions about all of that, and really, anything can come to tuition if they write it correctly lol. But this is one of the many things that keeps me hooked on bleach, they made such a great world and characters, to where you really want to know about the past. But for Ichigo to have a VL hollow within him means there is something up with his "natural" power. There's going to be two movies. The trailer for the first implies it'll be a recap, with the second film actually continuing the story. "The King of Eden" will be on November 28, 2009.
