rustix
I thought so too. I deliberately rate the series lower than the movies but they do give character to the Section 9 screw due to the more in depth interactions between them. that reminds me, I have to watch the GiTS movies. Have been putting that off due to the workload from uni :(
deletedxyz
that reminds me, I have to watch the GiTS movies. Have been putting that off due to the workload from uni :( ;) Work hard, play hard. It's the only series that I rate the movies higher than the anime series (not that it keeps me from still keeping the anime series as one of my favorites.) Jamushroom Veteran Posted November 29, 2009 Veteran Share Posted November 29, 2009 Both should be seen as separate things to be honest. The movies have nothing to do with the anime so both are stand alone anime (:p).

There's an interesting blog for that. :innocent: I'll get Blue Gender asap. ;) Yuji even stumbles upon a phenomenon similar to the "Beacon" that Shepherd finds at the beginning of the game. Jamushroom Veteran Posted November 29, 2009 Veteran Share Posted November 29, 2009 Saw "Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honn?amise" today. Was a good and fun movie to watch. Animation was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Music at some points didn't quite fit imo though I wasn't bothered by it. I'd give it a 7 out of 10:))

However, I do agree with the awkward music track and overall vague story line mixed with philosophy.
Jamushroom Veteran Posted November 29, 2009 Veteran Share Posted November 29, 2009 Yes, I was impressed by it. But besides that and the scenery, it wasn't anything spectacular compared with other anime from the same decade. The story made up for it though because to me it was really interesting. I've got a big weakness for anything which have to do with space. And an anime set in a different timeline in which the first earthling goes into orbit for the very first time, is a win in my eyes :)

It's refreshing to see an anime movie based on real events. I just went through your MAL page and found out that you didn't watch Planetes. You HAVE to. It's my favorite manga series and the anime series manages to hold together (with a very unbelieavable ending plot) unlike the manga. It's a MUST read. It's a must watch for any space fans like us. Jamushroom Veteran Posted November 29, 2009 Veteran Share Posted November 29, 2009 I've watched 2 episodes and had accidentally removed the whole anime. I had the anime during the period where I always had to make room for new anime series. I also didn't have a DVD burner at that time which gave me no other choice besides removing anime that I had watched. I've been wanting to watch Planetes for a long time though I haven't come around obtaining it. I'm even able to buy the whole DVD set, which I'll be doing as I'm sure it's pretty much worth it. There's a goldmine of manga's near me which I'll be going to soon. I'm gonna see if they've got the "Planetes" manga, otherwise I'll read it online :) "Freedom" is another anime about space which did leave a big impression on me. I'm sure I don't have to explain why though :p

I'm sure I don't have to explain why though :p Even though the animation and concept was amazing, something didn't sit right with me. Maybe it's the naivety of the two main characters or maybe it's just I was underwhelmed after following up Planetes with Freedom. By the way, Black Lagoon has one of the worst ending songs I've ever heard.
Azusa
By the way, Black Lagoon has one of the worst ending songs I've ever heard. Why what's so wrong with it? also i hope there'll be a second season of toaru majutsu no index.
deletedxyz
Why what's so wrong with it?also i hope there'll be a second season of toaru majutsu no index. It doesn't match wit the anime series AT ALL. It's so uninspired and boring. Hearing English spoken with a Japanese accent is quite funny. Black Lagoon's characters are supposed to all be speaking English and when they interact in Japan, Rock has to translate so you get to hear the accented English. At least it isn't as painful as hearing it when I was watching Beck. "Werll, Thang arll maitee" = "Well, thank All Mighty" "I Rost debet" = "I lost the bet" :D

LittleNeutrino Veteran Posted November 30, 2009 Veteran Share Posted November 30, 2009 it was technically two 13 episode seasons however there was no break in the airing of the series it just played as 1 large season. However it was sold on DVD as 2 seasons.
deletedxyz
you sure you're not talking about the OP and not the ED? Well, the OP is pretty bad. The ED is downright awful on a completely different level altogether. I wonder what went through the music producer's mind for accepting the song. kjordan2001
The latest Bleach/One Piece and Naruto are out. THe Bleech story is as slow as ever. We did not get anywhere in this issue either but Naruto and One Piece made a steady progress. Raikage and Killer-Bee vs Kisame and Luffy vs the 3 Admirals ;D I don't know, at least Yammy finally did his release so I'm thinking that won't last too long now. And we finally get that Tousen has hollow abilities, so that should make the next chapter interesting.
