Matrix XII
I don't know how but I actually missed that bit  I only watched the preview (or atleast what qualifies for a preview imo:p) And you are right about how Naoi putting on the cap gives a sense of dark intent but..... it somehow is kinda cool :) Yep it is :) I started reading the manga cuz I couldn't stand the suspense. However since I started reading the manga from the very beginning I still have a long way to go :pinch: haha what do you mean by couldn't stand the suspense? rustix
Well I started seeing spoilers on the inter-web about various characters dieing and certain battles occuring and the curiosity started to build. Also I always wanna see what Luffy's gonna do next esp now that he's teamed up with a rather interesting set of pirates :pinch: Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/702580-official-animemanga-thread/page/191/#findComment-592598908 Share on other sites
Green_Eye
Anyone else find it ridiculous how in Bleach they are going over kill with the explanation of their abilities? I mean it was always there and I know it's something you have to expect from animes in general but bleach just takes the **** Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/702580-official-animemanga-thread/page/191/#findComment-592598996 Share on other sites

deletedxyz
Good. I'm starting to understand the ebb and flow of the anime world. The 70's marked the slow take off of anime. Manga existed before that and had a huge influence on the anime industry. The 80's was the Big Bang of anime due to the explosion of romance, sports, mecha anime. The 90's was a good afterburner of the 80's while establishing new styles. The 00's were revolutionary due to art style and presentation of content. Bold colors, ostentatious presentation like TTGL, Code Geass, Death Note and many others. I'm curious to see what will happen in the 10's. Azusa
I'm curious to see what will happen in the 10's. Same here i hope thanks to shows like Queen's blade, Juuden-chan, and ladies vs butlers we will see Shirow's lesser known works make it into anim?. also Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/702580-official-animemanga-thread/page/191/#findComment-592599990 Share on other sites
deletedxyz
I personally want more unique anime like Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ghost in the Shell to happen this decade (if I continue to follow anime in two years). It's really hard to come by mature anime series that have a good plot and cast. I found a little bit of that in Zegapain and a few others. That's not to say I don't enjoy some light-hearted anime once in a while. deletedxyz
I'm going to check out K-ON! to see what the hype is all about. It looks like a Haruhi spin off (which I still haven't watched yet). Agreed, it's become diluted in the last couple of years. That's not to say I don't enjoy some light-hearted anime once in a while. The closest I've come to such anime is Gintama. It has EVERYTHING in that show. Comedy, tragedy, romance, death, violence, samurai, ninjas, mecha... You name it all and it's there. 100+ episodes of AWESOME. It's a pity it's going to end (anime will be on hiatus). Jamushroom Veteran Posted May 9, 2010 Veteran Share Posted May 9, 2010 They should start working on Appleseed: Genesis again. This has the potential to fall in the "unique" category if you ask me. Matrix XII
That new episode of One Piece was great (Y) I'm also on ep 29 of Eureka Seven, still liking it but it's story seems to drag a little bit. RadishTM Veteran Posted May 11, 2010 Veteran Share Posted May 11, 2010 Just watched the latest episode of FMA: B after abstaining from watching anime for a whole week (I just can't get enough of BSG at the moment :p) and damn, despite trying to hold his own, Buccaneer got seriously owned by Bradley :pinch: And he was a handful for Lin/Greed as well :o Didn't anticipate seeing Fu at the end though :woot: Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/702580-official-animemanga-thread/page/191/#findComment-592609674 Share on other sites
Jamushroom Veteran Posted May 11, 2010 Veteran Share Posted May 11, 2010 (edited) ^The latest episode was pretty amazing right from the get go. Hohenheims trick against Homoculus was devious though unfortunately didn't do the trick. Can't wait to see how that's going to turn out. Fu's short performance against Bradley also looked quite awesome. The next episode surely has some great stuff waiting for us :D Also, I'm curious to how Alphonse is doing. Haven't seen him in the past several episodes after his showdown with Kimblee. deletedxyz
I'm also on ep 29 of Eureka Seven, still liking it but it's story seems to drag a little bit. Therein lies the flaw of Eureka Seven. People call them fillers but I call them side stories. It gave a good depth of the Eureka Seven cast. I didn't enjoy the direction that the story took at the end but the overall experience compelled me to deem the anime series as a must watch for any anime fan. The soundtrack, the smooth animation and interesting, diverse mix of cast members makes the anime one of the best of the 00's. Jamushroom Veteran Posted May 11, 2010 Veteran Share Posted May 11, 2010 Be sure to check out "Psalms of Planets Eureka seveN: Good night, Sleep tight, Young lovers" as well. It's another story revolving around Renton and Eureka and a group called Gekkostate. Really a must watch if you like the anime series of Eureka Seven. Yeah I'd agree with that, I really like the cast although Renton can be annoying at times (as all main characters usually are). I liked Charles Beams quite a bit I thought he'd stay around longer though, it was kinda sad. It made me forget about any flaw of Eureka Seven, such as the annoying nasally voice of Renton. The second half was quite flawed with glaring plot holes that completely ruin the whole setup by the first half and made me remember how much I dislike Holland. He is the Misato (Neon Genesis Evangelion) of Eureka Seven. The only redeemable factors of the movie was seeing Eureka and Renton together, the amazing animation and the amazing soundtrack. One of the best romance sub plots for an action anime and one of the best soundtracks for an anime series ever. Berserk87
Berserk87 - Mal I'm off tomorrow so I'm trying to find a good movie to watch tonight. The biggest requirement is that its a standalone movie, as in I don't have to watch anything before it to really enjoy the movie. 'The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya' is on my plan to watch list, and I've heard a LOT about it, but I need to watch 2 or 3 seasons of the series first...which isn't going to happen in one day.
