Azusa
I just checked out the series' last episode online. How on earth did you manage to shed tears over that? It's annoying high school brats acting like white knights with nasal voice actors. You must really like your drama/high school anime. It reminds me of Fate/Stay Night (which I consider to be some ridiculous fantasy story about a loser written by closeted otakus). It played out just like Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes of which also made it rain a little. I guess when anim? is yet another thing American's and European's see differently. Jamushroom Veteran Posted June 27, 2010 Veteran Share Posted June 27, 2010 (edited) Interesting, I never new that there was an app for that :D Edit: If only the app looked more like advertised on this page :/ @Masked Forever: Oh no you didn't :p Edited June 27, 2010 by Capric0rn
rustix
Lol true.. Then again maybe that's what an older version looked like or maybe you could theme it like that :shifty: It's still quite user friendly though. I really like the feature how it automatically updated the list while I was watching an episode. I had to do sweet nothing (besides watching it of course) :pinch: Just finished watching Samurai Champloo. I enjoyed it. The baseball match was hilarious :woot:
deletedxyz
I watched all of Avatar: The Last Airbender since I didn't finish the last season. Season 1: 8/10 (Unique visuals, interesting plot and amazing fight scenes) Season 2: 7/10 (Tries to hold up to Season 1 but fails to capture the genuine atmosphere it previously created yet manages to hold its water) Season 3: 4/10 (Can someone say dumbed down? Predictable endings with kisses, lame "let's all be friends" ramblings and the very boring, typical "evil will always fall" ideology dominates the finale. It finally ends itself by categorizing itself as a "mature" children's show, which makes me feel like I wasted my time.) I really hate when shows take the extremes as valid conclusions. What happened to extremely powerful enemies who are actually mentally stable? What happened to extremely neutral characters proclaiming their disagreements with the main characters' rigid, naive "I will save the world without pre emptive violence". I guess the producers thought that its audience is too stupid to analyze and realize that there is no such thing as black and white or good and evil. Overall: 6.5/10 Everyone must watch the first season. It's a refreshing show that blends Eastern themes into a Nickelodeon cartoon for a Western demographic. If you enjoyed the show, I STRONGLY recommend Seirei no Moribito since the show has almost the same type of cast but with better animation. RadishTM Veteran Posted June 28, 2010 Veteran Share Posted June 28, 2010 Woah, I'm properly amazed by the latest episode of FMA:B (Y) I feel sorry for what Al had to do at the end. Ed was properly ****ed of at Homunculus because of it :( To hear what Greed actually desired in the end was pretty touching :) Seeing Mustang back in action with Hawkeye alongside of him was pretty great as well! :D Finally watched this now and I agree. My god, what a moving episode :| (Y)

Jamushroom Veteran Posted June 28, 2010 Veteran Share Posted June 28, 2010 Finally watched this now and I agree. My god, what a moving episode :| (Y) They nailed how Alphonse wanted to help Edward and how Edward didn't want Alphonse to sacrifice himself. It was touching to see to be honest. Can't wait for this weeks episode. I hope that Eclipse is on track this week :)

Jamushroom Veteran Posted June 29, 2010 Veteran Share Posted June 29, 2010 (edited) Just seen the last episode of FMA: B and man, that must've been the best episode so far. Again a touchy episodes yet happy towards the end. The part where Hoheneim wanted to sacrifice himself in order to revive Alphonse was really touchy. Specially how frustrated Edward was during that part. Then the part where Edward was going to sacrificing his "Truth", from that point on I felt that this episode was the best one so far. Can't believe the anime is going to end next week. Edited June 29, 2010 by Capric0rn

Again a touchy episodes yet happy towards the end. Can't believe the anime is going to end next week. I really thought this episode was sort of lacked luster.... All the others just amazing, but this one seemed to rush through. The music overtones were not there like every other episode we had, except near the end of the episode. Maybe it was more of the first 15 minutes that were rushed and the last 15 were great. And this really should have been an 1 hour episode. No point in making us wait a week just to see the 2 years later version.... All in all, this anime was fantastic and I bet watching it straight through would be the bees knees compared to this week by week schedule. I just felt that this episode was not as great as the others, just seemed like it was rushed or that they were rushing through parts. I did like the part when Ed opened the gate again though and his talk.

It felt like there were a lot of opportunities to fill in the details rather than do a quick snapshot of each character. How could this episode have been made into an hour long episode? I was hoping that the anime does more than the manga illustrated in its last chapter. It was just wishful thinking. :p

shakey
Well, why would you wish for it if it was already stated that this version would be staying true to the manga? This was not the last anime episode. Episode 64 is. Next episode will be showing the 2 years later portion of the manga. It will be just a dull, uneventful episode with some happiness and love. They should have made last episode an hour long, tack that on the end of it, and it would have been great. But having to wait till next week just to get the mushy happy endalll ending is sorta meh. I was hoping for more of a dramatic beating and musical score for this episode, and the part with greed just was really rushed, at least in my opinion. Sure, it was all supposed to be happening fast, but it just felt like they were trying to get it over with quickly lol. Actually, thinking about it, it all seemed rushed on that episode except for when greed died. They slowed everything down for that lol. Exactly how I felt when I finished the manga. I was hoping that the anime does more than the manga illustrated in its last chapter. It was just wishful thinking. :p Exactly. The manga is supposed to do that, just give us snap shots and let us fill in the rest, but not the anime. This episode felt like they just took the pages and colored them, added some more pictures so that they moved, and that was it. There was little addition to the fighting and conversation, and I think they actually left out parts of conversation..... Every episode up to this was just brilliant, but this 2nd to last just seems to have been rushed to get it over with. I did really like how this episode ending, with the father and his lifes work being shown. They did a great job on displaying the emotion the father had for his kids. I really did enjoy that. I found my self browsing through most of the last 2-3 episodes  Lousy? More like one of the most mind destroying abstractions that leaves your jaw on the floor by how it managed to tear apart the silly "golden era of 80s mecha" established prior to NGE. XD Check out RahXephon. It's my favorite anime series of all time. Imagine NGE but with a better execution, cast and story. It's one of the only anime series that I forget that breaks apart from the typical "boy tackles the world and becomes the world's best mecha pilot" stereotype. The male lead is not always the center of the story, which is one of the reasons I love the show. This was not the last anime episode. Episode 64 is. I definitely believe that the execution and pacing was quite flawed. The mangaka should have planned better.

You should use spoiler tags as I'm sure that some people haven't seen the episode yet. I know that this wasn't the last episode as I stated that myself in my previous post :p I didn't know that the next episode would be about what happens 2 years after the events that took place in this week's episode, which is why I asked. Also, you're contradicting yourself by first saying that they rushed Greed's death and later saying they rushed everything BUT his death :p Also, waiting 2 weeks for the ending isn't all that bad if you ask me. People like me, who haven't read the manga, don't know about the ending and all that. This is one of the reasons why I decided to not read the manga because now I won't be disappointed. I worded it wrong. They rushed everything up to his dieing words, but as he just floated in the air, watching everyone watching him, they slowed it all down. Then after that, it went back into rush mode lol. Just seemed too out of place, to have all this going on so quickly, then when greed gets bitten off, that moment last for a full minute of him just floating away lol. Everyone lives happily ever after. :\ Thinking about this manga makes me realize how much I dislike the "Crimson Flame" and his slave servant secretary who somehow run wild without any backing of his forces. How on earth does a rogue military officer go from banished to fascist leader during the aftermath? Good question to all FMA:B watchers: What do you think of the series compared to the original anime series? Better, worse? Do you think that the homonculus being part of some evil genie in a bottle is better than military experiments gone wrong in the original anime? Considering how the anime is true to the manga, I personally think that the first FMA anime is much better than FMA:B because its potential to be a very expansive series covering parallel worlds and its more down to earth characterizations of each lead to be a better and more original than the tried and true anime stereotypes of FMA:B. shakey
I liked this version much better than the other one. Not sure exactly why, but I like the thought of the Little Blob in a jar trying to be "better" than man. The ending does wrap it up nicely lol. Mustang was never banished. During the fight and after, they kept blaming other soldiers and generals for what was happening, but Mustang was never mentioned except by those who knew the truth. Mustang had his troops throwing the propaganda his way the whole time. In the end, they end up saying it was the generals under the Fuhrer who were the cause for the uprising, and that mustang and the soldiers from the north were there to prevent it.
