^Both are great songs. Though I'd have to pikc "Sign" if I had to make a choice. And awesome avatar/signature set Radish??:):)

I also guess that everyone heard the news about the new Code Geass? If not, go read that lin:):)

I re-watched Ghost in the Shell S.A.C. - Solid State Society. The whole movie is a great action thriller. It's a pity that most of the movie was an advertisement for cars (Infiniti, Ford GT, Ferrari and a few other luxury and super cars) and awkward dramatic pauses that are completely off character. Motoko was completely out of character. However, it must have the producers' wish to give her a backseat and allow them to focus on Togusa as a member of Section 9. However, the last half hour of the movie captures the essence of the first Ghost in the Shell movies and almost bumps the movie to "classic status". Motoko's last few lines of the movie gave a fantastic uppercut to my anticipation of a slightly aftertaste despite the deliciousness of it all. It felt a bit too sudden to be offered a rare delicacy after being treated to a full course meal of action, suspense and everything that made the Standalone Complex series great. The director made sure to include as many tributes as he could to the first two movies, which was a mixed bag since it assured that the movie was not going to test any new boundaries and play safe with everything.

The soundtrack is fantastic as always. It doesn't make as huge of an impact as the Ghost in the Shell soundtrack but it delivers. From Origa to Illaria Graziano to Yoko Kanno, the whole team was back to support the franchise.

Here's a sample:

The movie is a must watch for every Ghost in the Shell fan and anyone else who likes action mixed with their philosophy. It's a perfect continuation from the the movies (Individual Eleven and The Laughing Man) that summed up the anime series in two 3+ movies. Most of all, the ending left an opening for a sequel and possibly another season of S.A.C.

Bonus note: There are several scenes that have a "Bourne Idenitity" feel to it. The chilling, rising soundtrack in the scenes felt very similar to John Powell's soundtrack for the Bourne series.

And so the news about Code Geass unfolds. I don't have any opinions about it yet. It all sounds interesting though.

@maskedforever: I liked the fact that they focused on Togusa in the movie. He has always been the most vulnerable member of the team as he still has a human body. Plus he has a family which he has to get back to every night. So letting him run the team in S.S.S. was a nice idea. I do agree that it was a bummer to see Motoko having a supporting role during the first half of the movie, instead of a leading role. They did put all the essential GiTS things into this movie. I do hope that Production I.G. is going to make a new gig/movie. Who knows, maybe they'll make one of the 2 a reality to accompany the live action movie.

well it seems im back to watching Code Geass again for the second time and i seem to be loving it more now than when i first watched it.

I would like to reply with the following:

"table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table table."

That is all. Did I also mention kittens, imitations of Full Metal Panic!'s Fumoffu teddy and fan service. Yes, pizza will also be served.

wow it's like being back on 4chan also do you like to argue how much an apple is a rip off of an orange?

Also who was your favourite WWII General?

I couldn't resist. I still cringe when I remember that watched the second CG season. TT_TT I didn't say it was a ripoff. I'm just merely stating my opinion how annoying it was since the producers managed to pack everything their target audience loves. From "moe" moments to main characters cosplaying to somehow managing the squeeze the mentioned into a 50+ anime series surrounding a few teenagers who manage to become supreme leaders of the world in a matter of a few months.

I like maturity in my anime. I am not talking about the emotional kind. Full Metal Panic! still somehow managed to maintain its balance between slapstick comedy and political conflict. Code Geass shared the same formula except blended it into some type of spread. What it becomes is a figurative super sweet Reese's cup of anime (which I'm not a fan of) since I like to have chocolate and peanut butter separate in terms of anime.

Favorite WWII general: Eisenhower. Douglas MacArthur. I'm only speaking out of personal preference since I try to relate my "favorite characters and people" to my own personality.

Edit: Yuri, you HAVE to watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

Edit: Scratch Eisenhower. I actually remembered that I actually was more interested in the Pacific Front. Douglas MacArthur.

You want slapstick and political conflict then Patlabor is the anim? for you also if you stop thinking about Code Geass in the 20th to 21st century warfare terms and more pre-Christianity Roman a lot more of it makes sense.

Ahh you see i HATE Eisenhower with great passion for if he only gave Monty the support he asked for the European theatre could have been closed in 1944.

yeah i have LoGH still looking for some time to watch it.

The romanticism of supreme leaders irks me. Nothing trolls me harder than yet another Shakespearean tragic hero. >_< It's the same reason why the later "half" of Death Note, Code Geass and a few other anime series feel like torture.

Any anime that follows something similar to Full Metal Panic!'s TSR series sparks my interest. Your recommendation for Patlabor is duly noted. By the way, I changed my choice for favorite WWII general.
