Gonna watch Durarara!! in a bit. I'm really liking this serie so far. I'm also gonna watch the last episode of Bakemonogatari :)

I've also watched the making of Akira today. I always love to see how anime movies/series are being made from the ground up :D

Casshern Sins first episode is ridiculous. >_> Amnesia seems to be a very popular theme for mediocre cyberpunk anime.

You're gonna love it (Y)

I'm hoping Casshern does get better... It looks like its reaching Haruhi cult status because of the female protagonist. I'll look into it when all 15 are done. It looks slightly interesting.

^ What original?

I just completed 881 chapters of Hajime no Ippo. I've never read that much of one manga series ever. I can't believe that I didn't even entertain the idea that it was getting boring or repetitive. Even though it does have a predictable formula, the tension before, during and after the fights is amazing. The manga has more than enough fuel for another 50 volumes. I am seriously considering giving the manga a spot as one of the best manga series I've ever come across.

The most mesmerizing eyes award goes to:

Motoko from Ghost in the Shell (movie):

Oboro Iga (Basilisk):

I'm sure I'm forgetting quite a few others. Any other nominations of characters with great depth and intelligence who have fantastically drawn eyes?

^ Too bad her music sounds like

wailing banshees during their time of month on a Friday night on the 13th of a month.

Was I the only one impressed by Balalaika, the most badass female character I've ever come across? She can roundhouse Motoko Kusanagi any time of the day.

Fist of the North Star was one of the Weekly Shōnen Jump's most popular titles during the 1980s. As of 2007, it is the seventh best-selling Shōnen Jump manga of all time in Japan.[27] In a poll conducted by TV Asahi in 2005, the Fist of the North Star anime series ranked 26 in a list of Top 100 Anime series.[28] In a second poll in 2006, it ranked No. 89.[29] In a celebrity version of the poll, it ranked No. 15. - Wikipedia

I really enjoyed the Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star) because it was just entertaining violence. It's basically what Gladiator would look like in manga form if you add in some astrology and gorgeous women. Too bad it stops being entertaining and turns into an 80's fashion show with absurd hair, bisexual antagonists who look crazy and are obsessed/crazy in love with the male protagonists. There is too much "brotherly love". In essence, this manga is too "gay" for continue to read this. Every man is depicted as extremely muscular with bodies that defy the physical limitations of the human body. I'm talking about guys with 12 pack abs and biceps that even Arnold Schwarzenegger blush. Regarding the female characters, it's just painful to read through the manga with the obvious misogyny. The women are treating like voluptuous objects and one of the male characters goes as far as to forcefully stripping a female protagonist and then a few volumes later confess his love to her. Rape and perverse sexual themes are scattered around in a chapter when the mangaka thought that there was not enough violence. >_<

Proof of how ridiculous the manga gets:

post-274334-12651533468862_thumb.jpg post-274334-12651533512562_thumb.jpg

If you simply break down the manga, it's just a man who's whining about a lost love and goes on a violent spree killing everyone just touching them and making them explode while inviting children to the places he goes to keep them safe.

Even though the manga has fantastic imagery and drop dead gorgeous depictions of women, the lack of intelligence, ridiculous violence, fat/giant enemies and women who are the epitomes of the dumb blonde stereotype, who cry every second a man they "love" gets a single scratch on his body even though they're fighting hundred's of enemies, make this manga close to unreadable.

2/10 Awful.

Did I mention the most beautiful depictions of women in manga ever? It's such a pity that I couldn't stand continuing this manga anymore. TT_TT It's as bad as I''s even though the girls are beautiful.

Evangelion 2.22 Film's Digitally Mastered DVD Listed

The Japanaese online retailer Rakuten is listing the May 26 DVD release of the Evangelion: 2.22 You Can Not Advance (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Ha) film. This second film in Hideaki Anno and Khara's four-part remake of Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion science fiction anime series was released in theaters last June under the title Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance. According to the retailer, the "2.22" version number represents the release's digital mastering with "readjustments."

The second film continues the story of a group of 14-year-olds entrusted with giant biomechanical units to protect Earth from mysterious Angels. While the first film hewed closely to the original television series, the second film goes farther in a different direction.

After Japan, the film played in festivals in Spain, Canada, the United States, and France. In an interview in an issue of Rockin'On's Cut magazine in December, co-director Kazuya Tsurumaki already indicated that he is working on retakes for the DVD release of the film.

Masked Forever, you'll be happy about this.

The manga looks average visually therefore I'm not going to put my expectations too high up. However, I'm open to being pleasantly surprised.

i was talking bout watching all that.

It's my cup of tea. Post apocalyptic, biomedical/electrical jargon anime series with a genuine set of characters and sense of panic. (except the last few episodes... the plot twist was so bad that I want to question if the writers/producers were under the influence). The ridiculous religious in-your-face symbolism in the last few episodes combined with the characters going completely insane and sadistic made me wonder if NGE was following the plot of Catcher in the Rye style of open endings. "Is NGE from the point of view of Shinji who was gradually moving towards a mental breakdown due to a lack of father figure, too much time spent with indecisive women who have a father complex?"

The whole experience was like eating a rare delicacy, savoring the rich aroma and flavor then realizing the after taste was enough to lower your IQ.

Wow and most people just treat it like DooM IE Bloodbath slugfest with some symbolism on the side.

Also currently watching Hayate No Gotoku for the 4th time i think and every time i watch it i seem to pick up more references than i did before truly this is the second greatest reference animé out there with Excel Saga being A#1
