deletedxyz
Ok i knew it was coming but the date kinda crept up on me but April 6th sees the all out banning of loli in the UK?    Any links to sources? I do not endorse nor support the idea of loli but it is quite disturbing when the government bans art, regardless of its controversial nature. deletedxyz
This is why i love you. last paragraph These plans became part of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009, sections 62-68[28], and will come into force on 6 April 2010[29]. The definition of a "child" in the Act includes depictions of 16 and 17 year olds who are over the age of consent in the UK, as well as any adults where the "predominant impression conveyed" is of a person under the age of 18. The Act makes it illegal to own any picture depicting under-18s participating in sexual activities, or depictions of sexual activity in the presence of someone under 18. The law has been condemned by a coalition of graphic artists, publishers and MPs, fearing it will criminalise graphic novels such as Lost Girls and Watchmen.[30] The Government claimed that publication or supply of such material may be illegal under the Obscene Publications Act, if a jury would consider it to have a tendency to "deprave and corrupt".[24] However, the published bill makes no reference to the "deprave and corrupt" test. They're criminalizing Watchmen... Watchmen!

Started watching 'full metal panic!'.Only one episode in but its looking promising. One of my favorites. Some good news for Gintama fans :) That translates to a *possible* new season only after Sunrise reconsiders its anime lineup. I won't get my hopes up. Azusa
After giving it some thought the bill that comes into effect on the 6th of April effectively makes Hentai illegal (namely 95% of it)
Matrix XII
Started watching 'full metal panic!'. Only one episode in but its looking promising. I really liked that show actually. The one girl does get annoying at times though. Has anyone seen the second season, is it any good?
deletedxyz
They're criminalizing Watchmen... Watchmen! I take that back. The comic is terrible. The characters are fatally flawed and drab set in a dystopian future. (N) Has anyone seen the second season, is it any good? Is that supposed to be rhetorical? deletedxyz
You guys on the other side of the pond in the UK are really feeling the heat from the ISP's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Economy_Bill The Digital Economy Bill [1][2] is a bill announced in the 2009 Queen's Speech before the United Kingdom parliament.[3] The bill will receive its second reading on the 6th April 2010 and it is expected[4] that it will not be debated in the Commons, and instead will be pushed through in the "wash up". The bill follows the Digital Britain report and contains many of its suggestions including provisions about: the functions of the Office of Communications the online infringement of copyright, including copyright and performers? rights and about penalties for infringement internet domain registries the functions of the Channel Four Television Corporation the regulation of television and radio services the regulation of the use of the electromagnetic spectrum the Video Recordings Act 1984 public lending right in relation to electronic publications The bill proposes adding a clause to the Communications Act 2003 with the effect that internet service providers could be forced to disclose details of their customers who repeatedly infringe copyright, on production of sufficient evidence, to copyright groups or face a fine of ?250,000 for non-compliance. ISPs may also be required to block access to sites that allow "substantial" infringement.[5] The bill proposes further measures allowing for the "temporary suspension" of internet connections for repeat infringers of copyright following warnings from their ISP. The bill has received criticism for some of these measures. (see below) Other provisions in the bill include an amendment to the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 to increase the criminal liability for "making or dealing with infringing articles" and "making, dealing with or using illicit recordings" to a maximum of ?50,000. Regulation of content is also a theme in the bill, which sees it adopt the PEGI standard for video game ratings. The UK government would also be able directly to intervene to control the use of the UK's domain name space, currently overseen by the independent body Nominet. The bill also includes proposed changes to DAB radio in the United Kingdom including the reorganisation and merging of some of the local DAB ensembles[6] and an requirement for a digital switchover of terrestrial radio in the United Kingdom.[7]

deletedxyz
No I was seriously asking, but that's good news anyways :) ....I'm now on ep 21 of Eva, just a few more! Brace yourself for impact for Eva. One moment, it's all cool and full of action and the next is like watching a patient in an insanity ward going crazy. Full Metal Panic! is my kind of show. Slapstick humor (like GTO), intelligent girl (equal to male protagonist or even more important), foreign policy & politics and technology (similar to Zegapain and Ghost in the Shell). The second season focuses more on character chemistry and "cute humor", which isn't exactly something I enjoyed. The last season made me look at the anime as a well thought out anime series with a satisfying introduction, climaxes and a segue to another arc/possible ending. The last time I saw FMC was a couple years ago I think, maybe I should get back into it. I can hardly remember what it was about haha
