DrCheese
When Microsoft officially release this, will the serial key work with this version? Thanks If it is indeed the same build that MS release, then yes. scratch42069
Has anyone got to test any games yet? I tried to install Fallout 3 last night but I got an instant crash when I tried launching the game. Ran it in Vista compatibility mode and still no dice. I haven't tested anything else yet after the experience I had trying to get Fallout 3 to run. scratch42069
Oh this is too cool. Check out the installer window for the Nvidia 181.00 Vista drivers. Andrmgic
Yeah I'll give the Vista 181.00 drivers a shot and see what happens. World of Warcraft, Left 4 Dead and the new Prince of Persia worked very well in 6956.. and I know that WoW and L4D work fine in build 7000. WoW seems to have higher latency than it does running under Mac OS X on my notebook, but it certainly isn't a deal breaker. SlasherKG
Hmm, those actually say NVIDIA Windows 7 in the window, could they be wddm 1.1? ObiWanToby
Gaming is certainly quite Vital to any OS success :p Crysis Wars and Call of Duty are my main concerns. Maybe Supreme Commander. I would imagine punkbuster would be the only issue. scratch42069
The drivers on the Nvidia Developer site worked perfectly. I have the Nvidia CP and Digital Vibrance again :) All the settings stick. Now to see if my games will work now. scratch42069
Hmm, those actually say NVIDIA Windows 7 in the window, could they be wddm 1.1? I think they are because I saw the boot animation. All the other features work as they did with the default WDDM1.1 drivers too. SlasherKG
Well, that doesn't really mean anything... WDDM 1.0 drivers would still give you all that. 1.1 has the RAM usage cut in half though. I don't see anything after installing them that says WDDM 1.1 Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/714032-windows-7-build-7000-beta-1-qna/page/15/#findComment-590328510 Share on other sites

SlasherKG
Yeah, I don't see anything that says one way or the other. What makes you think it would say so in Device Manager? The pre-release that came with the OS said it, but that could just be what MS branded them. I've never seen an official release say anything but the Video Card name. Kyang
I found myself using that Aero Shake feature for the first time. So far it just hasn't been that useful for me. I use the Aero Snap feature all the time though. Which of the new Aero gestures have been the most useful for everyone else? scratch42069
Aero Shake would be cool if you didn't have to release the mouse button and bring the window in focus again to maximize. Other than that it's a good feature and will be very useful. SlasherKG
You don't have to, you can simply shake again to restore all windows back the way they were. Brandon Live Veteran Posted December 28, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 28, 2008 When I dragged something like, "Documents", into the start menu, there's no option to un-pin it in the right click menu... The last time this happened, I cleared out all of the pinned applications by clearing something in the registry. It's also not showing up in, "F:\Users\Kyang\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned" either. Does anyone know of a simpler way to remove such an item? Known bug. Sorry I'm not aware of a workaround at this time.
