mdtaUK
It might be so that is why I wish somebody would share a link on here I really don't want to wait until friday! Well all the download links so far, are for those with msdn, connect, or technet membership, so even if you were given a link, the download would be disabled. You could try to re-download the leaked version, and give it another go? fishrman
It's the same key for everyone, its been stated. The keys are not the same for the Technical Beta, I can't say much for anything else. The Technical Beta keys are unique, with unlimited activations on up to 5 machines. Iced_Eagle
Does the windows 7 install format the C drive?I read some conflicting things on this. I tried skimming this 54 page post, but I am tired :p oh god my signature is old! Of course not. Boot into the Win Install DVD and you have complete control of where Win7 gets installed, etc. Plus, it doesn't auto-format anything. You have to manually tell it to format partitions and what-not. atleeit
Use compatibility mode, and run it as Vista. Works excellent for the X-Fi drivers. :) no matter what compatibility mode you do it will not install, says it does not find the hardware and the driver does not install, you can only install from the cd which you get with your X-fi, the web updates do not work. And if you install drivers from CD then 2 channel will only work even though you have other options and Digital out dont work. My xfi fatal1ty web driver installs worked fine in compatibility mode too. I have DD and DTS working fine via SPDIF. Initially i recieved an error about OS compatibility but once i put the install program to run in Vista compatibility it worked like a charm. If you are getting an error that indicates it cannot find the hardware... you may want to check Device Manager to make sure the card is showing up. Otherwise im not sure what's going on with yours. But what you stated is completed untrue.
