and that'll refresh the page even if it has the key, and you'll miss it

You may miss it today, but effectively when the page has generated your key and ties it to your Windows Live account, you've reserved your key. So, subsequent refreshes have no effect . When Microsoft have fixed things up, you'll receive the key that was generated previously, this may be through Technet or else where (already tested, tried accessing the key generation page with the same WL account and got the same key).

64-bt version is running great here on my older test machine. It's running on an Athlon X2 3800+, 2GB of RAM and an 8600GT and it scores 4.9 in the Windows Experience Index. This machine scored 4.8 in Vista. I was able to install the Vista R2.14 Realtek HD Audio driver and it's working great too. So far I have no complaints with the OS at all.

Yeah, in my limited time with it before work (and sans key, bLAH), it was a very nice experience from setup to installing various programs. Google Chrome didn't work for me at all tho.

Chrome worked perfectly for me when I was testing out the 32-bt version. Haven't installed it on 64-bit yet.

That's got to be it.

Windows gave me a compat error, and then when I fired up Chrome it gave me the sad face broken link, and then everything I tried after that just didn't even try to load.

Add the following to the end of the target in the shortcut:

--in-process-plugins

This is getting really frustrating, It just won't work!! And when it goes to the live search thing I have to delete cookies and history then go to technet sign in again then put the link back in. Hopefully they release more keys I'll be really disappointed if I don't get one

Well, they do have 2.5 million keys - one should think that it would last for a while, so don't fret.

Since Microsoft is having trouble with this, I'd imagine the demand for these keys is extremely high. What I'm really worried about is people getting 10+ keys. I need one for my laptop and one for my desktop, but that's it, and I can just use my 2 main Live IDs for that.

I hope that they plan a redistribuion rather than just turn it on and say "GO FOR IT"

<sql error>

Nice! :cool:

You can use the key for either, 64bit and 32bit alike.

I need 64bit because I have 4GB of Ram.

@devize:

Worked fine for me with a single tab.

One key will activate 10 systems.

According to the Windows 7 FAQ, each key will only activate 3 systems.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/beta-faq.aspx

When you download the Beta you?ll be given a product key. (See Installing the Windows 7 Beta.) Be sure to use the product key to activate the Beta within 30 days, or the Beta?s functionality will be limited. Your product key will work for upthree separate computers, so if you want to install the Windows 7 Beta on another PC, you can re-use the same key.
