mclaren05
If you look on the front page you can find this article.https://www.neowin.net/news/main/09/01/10/p...dows-7-beta-key Just read a bit into it and you will find the links for the x86/x64 versions. Deathray
They won't run out of keys, it seems the whole notion of 2.5 million beta users was tossed out the window (no pun intended)... Yesterday people were getting unique keys, today a set of 10 keys are being recycled and handed out. Maybe they'll only activate the first 2.5 million, but I really doubt that Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/717592-windows-7-official-public-beta/page/128/#findComment-590400140 Share on other sites
blunden
Yeah, I also refreshed like a mad man yesterday. Seems I got one unique key and 2 common ones. Btw. what do they mean will happen after 24/1? Darkness Muta
The original keys yesterday were unique but now they just opted for volume license keys which can be installed on an unlimited number of computers. ThreeLies
I do not think Volume License Keys can usually be used on a unlimited amount of computers, but seeing how they run the activation servers they can decide when to not activate people. I doubt they will really go with the 2.5 million people figure. sharp65
They withdrew the 2.5 million limit, it's staying open thru the 24th. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/717592-windows-7-official-public-beta/page/128/#findComment-590400364 Share on other sites
Denis W. Veteran Posted January 11, 2009 Veteran Share Posted January 11, 2009 I doubt they will really go with the 2.5 million people figure. We have clearly heard that many of you want to check out the Windows 7 Beta and, as a result, we have decided remove the initial 2.5 million limit on the public beta for the next two weeks (thru January 24th). During that time you will have access to the beta even if the download number exceeds the 2.5 million unit limit. Seeing how the keys have been posted already in this thread, and also given the disc images have been placed on many mirrors and torrents, everything should be fine now. Start testing. :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/717592-windows-7-official-public-beta/page/128/#findComment-590400374 Share on other sites
Inctye
So what happens to the volume keys after this two week period? Will they still work in case any of us end up reinstalling Win7 again? Imo, I think they should still work beyond those dates. No, you do not have to move it. Just mount ISO in your current OS and start the install. Does anybody know if its possible to install Realtek AC'97 drivers? ive been trying for a while with no luck. =/ Have you tried using the driver offered directly from the Realtek website and not OEM? Sometimes the driver on the OEM sites are not always compatible as the ones offered straight from Realtek. ThreeLies
Damn nothing is showing up for me in windows update for me Try using this file directly from Realtek's site. ftp://202.65.194.211/pc/audio/6285_Vista_APO_PG536.zip (copy and paste the link cause it adds http) Or you can go here http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/ and get drivers directly.
