Kyang
It's not fixed because it's difficult to reproduce. If you can figure out a way to cause it to happen intentionally please post it. I'm sure Brandon and the rest of the shell team would love to get rid of this defect. :)(My Vista "Uninstall Programs" currently thinks it's a video folder. :p) But I read that it was fixed in SP2. Was the information incorrect?
Mathachew Veteran Posted February 21, 2009 Veteran Share Posted February 21, 2009 It still happens to me from time to time. What I don't get is why Windows likes to enable groups. A video, music or picture could be added to a folder that had miscellaneous files and suddenly goes from detail to music or icon view, and sometimes they're grouped. It gets quite annoying have to ungroup, change my view type, rearrange my column headers.

And the only way to have windows remember folder views again is to restart your PC and setup your folder views again :( So when any software disables Aero the Remembering folders view bug happens!! :( I don't think this will be fixed in Windows 7 Final. I hope some one here will let Microsoft know about this. Edited April 10, 2009 by gate1975mlm

phot0nic
But I read that it was fixed in SP2. Was the information incorrect? It's certainly not fixed in SP2. I'm running the latest version now, and the bug just showed up (again) a couple days ago. I can't understand why this problem hasn't been fixed yet. I mean, I don't think I've used a Vista machine that hasn't suffered from this problem, yet Microsoft claims that it's "difficult to reproduce". It just doesn't make sense. MagicAndre1981
I also don't have it. So it must be your problem. The issue is mostly that you don't underrstand that there are 5 different foldertype not 1 as in WinXP ;)
