RocketDock - Is it safe?

Question

I was reading a topic in which a lot of people recommended RocketDock over ObjectDock, so I went and downloaded it. Although, I've just been reading that RocketDock installs a keylogger onto your machine and isn't safe, does anyone know if this is true?

http://www.freewaregenius.com/2006/09/17/rocketdock/

Also, I'm wanting to place an icon on the dock which provides a drop down list displaying all installed games, does anyone know of an addon which would allow me to do this? I don't want all the game icons on the dock because it looks plain ugly.

Any help is appreciated. :)

hmm..i dont personally know the people that made the software, but i use to talk to one of the developers via aim. I dont believe they would include any spyware like that. As far as a drop down list goes, i believe that rocket dock can mimic stacks like in os x

Well I've taken a look at all of the options and can't find anything. :(

Hello,

From looking at the message thread on the Freeware Genius web site, it appears RocketDock installs a wedge to monitor keyboard input, which is probably done to allow the program to respond to various keychords. The messages do not actually state that an actual malicious program was found, but rather that RocketDock performed an action that might be malicious, according to the two security programs mentioned. There's no actual determination of malicious activity, just suspicious activity. Since this appears to be the expected behavior of RocketDock, though, it looks like it should be treated as a false positive alarm.

What is surprising to me is that RocketDock does not mention this on their web site.

Well I hope it is a false alarm, I agree something should be mentioned on their website. I'm still debating whether or not to install ObjectDock instead. :(

^ Right click on that box and click icon settings. Then you have to select the folder and type of mode.

Just choose Fan under the mode if you want the OS type fanning.

Theres also a GRID option that pops up a box with all the Icons. Thats what I use, its cool!
