The x64 was the first edition of win7 i tested on the x64 platform and i can say it's pretty stable and all, but i had problems geting x64 drivers for my macbook,i got it working in the end.

Sadly my main pc is a pentium 4 prescot ,so now i can test it on my main pc too :)

you should be able to use the 64-bit just fine on your prescott because it should have the em64 extensions :)

Yay! I should go for 64-bit but it's so much easier to just click upgrade than to wipe everything and then have to reload it (primarily my music).

Might have to grab this as I've been using 7000 as my main OS, why not stick with it. I do wish there was an option to upgrade from x86 to x64 as I'd hate to have to reinstall everything again. I know with the architecture change that would probably be impossible though

It does not :) ... It's a 3Ghz P4 ...by that time only amd had athlon64.

The original Prescotts did not have EM64T technology. The E0 setting of the Prescotts were the first P4's with the technology, the Nocona Xeon's being the first Intel processors to have x64 instructions.

Yay! I should go for 64-bit but it's so much easier to just click upgrade than to wipe everything and then have to reload it (primarily my music).

It's a good idea to put your valuable stuff on a different partition at least .. a different drive altogether would be even better!

Much easier to upgrade and not worry about losing stuff after that ..

Found something VERY annoying in 7048 that didnt happen on the previous builds.

I install iTunes as usual, but when I run it, all my songs in the library are listed as missing. When I go to my music dir and scan for *.mp3 (I have about 10k) every one that appears doesnt have an artist, title or album in the columns.

Its like all the mp3's tags have been wiped.

I switched to Vista and thank god it was all back to normal. I went back into Win7 and it happened again.

Anyone else having mp3 issues?

So I've just installed 7022 and it's running great. Not a single issue so far. Do I have to completely wipe if I want to run 7048 or what?
