Rappy Veteran Posted August 19, 2009 Veteran Share Posted August 19, 2009 Hull City chairman Paul Duffen says the club's ?12m bid for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Negredo has collapsed. Duffen told BBC Radio Humberside the 23-year-old Spaniard had turned down a move to the KC Stadium in favour of joining Sevilla. Negredo rejoined Madrid this summer after they exercised a buy-back option to bring him back from Almeria. City have publicly failed in bids to sign Michael Owen, Marc-Antoine Fortune and Fraizer Campbell this summer. Kralik
I just saw this on an Arsenal fansite.. A more tangible rumour is the one about Balazs Dzsudzsak, a 22-year-old Hungarian winger who apparently we have made a formal offer for. Courtesy of Sport, the PSV Eindhoven player says that he consider a move to Arsenal should the offer be accepted, saying: "I have just received the news that Arsenal has formally made an approach for me! Now, what can I make of this?!"Of course, I do not want to get ahead of myself. But if such a club is interested in you, there is nothing wrong with being proud of such a thing." Rappy Veteran Posted August 20, 2009 Veteran Share Posted August 20, 2009 James Collins' move to Stoke City has fallen through after the Welsh international failed to agree terms at the Britannia Stadium. Stoke had a bid of about ?3m - rising to a potential ?5m - accepted by Premier League rivals West Ham United. BBC Sport understands the 25-year-old defender cannot agree personal terms. "We just couldn't come to an agreement," Collins' agent Cyrille Regis told BBC Sport. "So at the moment the deal is dead." Stoke boss Pulis admitted on Tuesday that Collins was "one of a number of players I'm looking at" as he aims to strengthen his defensive options. The Welsh defender was at the Britannia Stadium on Tuesday discussing personal terms but talks broke down. Collins has spent four seasons at Upton Park, although injuries have limited him to only 49 league starts for the Hammers. He played the full 90 minutes as Gianfranco Zola's side won their opening Premier League of the season 2-0 against promoted Wolves at Molineux on Saturday. West Ham boss Zola insisted his club did not need to sell key players before the end of the August transfer window. Zola was thought to be under pressure from CB Holding, the club's Icelandic owners, to cash in on the squad. But Zola told the club's website on Tuesday: "We are looking to buy not sell players." -- yay he's important imo to the clu:yes:s: Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/745234-football-summer-2009-transfer-thread/page/23/#findComment-591464334 Share on other sites

Rappy Veteran Posted August 21, 2009 Veteran Share Posted August 21, 2009 Liverpool have today officially confirmed what was reported earlier in the week at Goal.com, and announced the signing of Sotirios Kyrgiakos from Greek outfit AEK Athens. Reds manager Rafa Benitez was delighted to have snared the defender, who has signed a two-year deal with an option of another year should things go well for him on Merseyside. The fee is believed to be in the region of ?3 million. "He is a tough defender who is strong and good in the air. He has a strong character and we were looking for these things," the Spaniard told 'Pool's official website. "He can score goals and will be a threat from corners and free-kicks. He's very strong in defence but he will need time as always to settle into the Premier League. He will be a very good signing for us. "We knew the player when he was with Rangers and we've been watching videos of him at Frankfurt and the national team. Our scout department had a lot of information. "We've talked about the things he's done before and the things he'll have to do for us. It was good. He knows what we want and he's ready to work." Benitez also thinks the acquisition of the defender provides some much needed experience for the Reds backline, and anticipates the Greek international helping out the youngsters at Anfield. "It will be positive. I was talking with Ayala about this. When the young players see someone with experience it is positive because they can learn from them," he added. "It also means they have more time. If they have to play some games they can but they are not under pressure." Martyn
We are closing in on Chamakh :D?7m Nice sources Rappy:pp Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh has ruled out the possibility of him securing a move to West Ham.Speculation had been mounting of late that the Hammers were looking to land the Moroccan frontman in an effort to ease their attacking problems. With a number of forwards currently sidelined, Gianfranco Zola was known to be keen on Chamakh. He will, however, be unable to bring the African ace on board as the player has distanced himself from a proposed switch to Upton Park. "From a sporting point of view, I prefer to stay at Bordeaux than go to West Ham," Chamakh told France 3 Aquitaine. Mourning The 25-year-old also told of how he is still "in the process of mourning Arsenal" after intense speculation regarding a move to the Gunners this summer came to nothing. He insists he is now looking forward to spending the 2009/10 campaign in France and helping Bordeaux defend their Ligue 1 title. "Instead of joining another Premier League club, I'm going to opt for the very interesting year which Bordeaux is proposing on a sporting level," he said. Finally, he dismissed suggestions that he is planning an imminent trip to London to meet with West Ham officials. "This is just nonsense. I was aware of the West Ham rumours recently but it wasn't a priority," he added. Rappy Veteran Posted August 23, 2009 Veteran Share Posted August 23, 2009 Joleon Lescott's well-documented move from Everton to Manchester City has seemingly edged a significant step closer this evening (Sunday), with the news that the Toffees have agreed a fee for the player with their Mancunian counterparts. Sky Sports News reports that the fee is ?24 million, whilst City's official website confirms that a deal has been agreed between the clubs pending a medical without mentioning a price tag. Toffees manager David Moyes today acknowledged that the player was on the verge of completing a move which has become English football's main talking point in the last few weeks, with Everton claiming that the player was undergoing a medical at Eastlands. The move has been tainted with sourness throughout, with Moyes angry about the way in which in which both City have conducted the move, and the way the player has reacted to the situation. "It's been difficult because Joleon's attitude has been so poor and it's had an effect and that's why we've had to leave him out," the Scotsman told The Daily Telegraph last week prior to the UEFA Cup clash with Sigma Olomouc. "Obviously we'd rather have him playing but if a player is going to behave in the manner he did, we've had no choice but to keep him away from it. "You could see the effect that it had last week. I think it's played a big part behind the scenes." Rappy Veteran Posted August 24, 2009 Veteran Share Posted August 24, 2009 Nice sources Rappy :p could still be on the cards...:p West Ham hope to wrap up the signing of Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh this week, BBC Sport understands. The deal depends on the sale of James Collins, who was the subject of a ?5m bid from Stoke last week and has also attracted interest from Aston Villa. Morocco international Chamakh, 25, would cost about ?7m and is expected to sign a five-year deal at Upton Park. Chamakh scored 14 goals last season to help Bordeaux break Lyon's seven-year monopoly of the French league title. Hammers boss Gianfranco Zola has been told he must sell before he can bring any more players to the club. The Italian has a surfeit of central defenders, with England international Matthew Upson, Welsh duo Danny Gabbidon and Collins and promising home-grown player James Tomkins all vying for two positions. Rappy Veteran Posted August 25, 2009 Veteran Share Posted August 25, 2009 Racing Club de Lens forward Aruna Dindane is set to join Portsmouth, according to a report from Sky Sports News, having already passed a medical at the south coast club. The centre-forward, who partners Didier Drogba up front for the Ivory Coast national team and can also play on either flank, looks set to sign a three-year deal very soon, as Portsmouth boss Paul Hart looks to bring much-needed reinforcement to Fratton Park. Dindane has been in demand in recent times, and has been linked with a clutch of Premier League clubs in the last few seasons, as well Monaco this summer. Pompey have seen Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe depart the club since Christmas, severely reducing the quality of the striking options available to Hart, whose side have begun their Premier League campaign with three defeats, to Fulham, Birmingham City and Arsenal. The manager has been keen to add a player to his squad who can finish the chances that his side are creating, and it looks as though that is likely to happen very soon. "I don?t like losing and it?s difficult when we do," he told the club's official website. "But I get my lift from the players. If I had a group who were lying down and feeling sorry for themselves then I wouldn?t have anything. But that?s not the case. I look at their faces and there?s disappointment. They?re disappointed that we haven?t scored more goals. "We created 15 chances against Fulham and lose to a goal that?s gone in off someone?s backside. "I think we?ve been extremely well organised and disciplined in the three games we?ve had. We should have got more from those games. But we?re still giving it a go. "You can spend hours going through all that rubbish and it?ll kill you. I can?t dwell on disappointments ? we have to move on." --- In a surprising twist to this particular Lazio saga, English outfit West Ham United are believed to have agreed a fee for the Biancocelesti's Macedonian forward, Goran Pandev. According to calciomercato.com, the Roman club have reportedly accepted West Ham's offer of an initial ?5 million. Should Pandev move on from the Hammers in a year or two, Lazio would receive 50 per cent of the transfer fee. It would be an ideal solution for president Claudio Lotito, who risks losing Pandev on a free transfer next summer, when the player's contract expires. The Aquilotti patron is also fighting to keep Lazio's reputation intact as the club squabbles with Pandev over the forward's future in Rome. Sporting director Igli Tare was recently forced to tell the media that "there is no case about [Lazio] bullying [Pandev]", as the 26-year-old tries to secure his release from the club. A move to Zenit St. Petersburg broke down earlier this summer, but time is beginning to run out for Pandev to move before the transfer window closes. If these reports are on the mark, Pandev could line-up for Gianfranco Zola's side against Blackburn Rovers next weekend. nothuman
Manchester United midfielder Anderson has been told he can quit Old Trafford after a furious bust-up with Sir Alex Ferguson. The Brazilian star left Fergie fuming after reacting badly to his failure to make the starting line-up for the Community Shield defeat by Chelsea. The Scot was so angry he later confronted Anderson over his actions and was stunned by the 21-year-old?s refusal to back down. Anderson insisted he was good enough to be in the team and was frustrated at being overlooked, with rookie Darron Gibson taking his place in the squad. And with the Brazilian international claiming he would prefer to quit rather than sit on the sidelines, Ferguson is willing to grant him his wish. Anderson?s flare-up has seen him barely feature this season. He played 59 minutes stuck out on the left wing in the defeat at Burnley and hardly made an impact. He didn?t even make the bench for the 5-0 win over Wigan, with Gibson being handed the job of shoring up the centre of midfield when Paul Scholes tired. The row is a major blow to Ferguson who hoped the former Porto star would mature into a key player this season. But having seen his close pal Cristiano Ronaldo leave for Real Madrid in the summer, Anderson could soon be following him out of the Old Trafford door. United paid nearly ?18m for Anderson in May 2007 after Ferguson?s scouts told him the midfielder was one of the best prospects around. He fired one of the shoot-out penalties in the 2008 Champions League final win over Chelsea after coming on as a sub, and started the defeat by Barcelona in last season?s competition, but he now faces an uncertain future. WTF? This is bull****, right?
