Sir Topham Hatt
Check out this image: I want to blend the blue and orange together a bit more but blurring it looks too obvious. I am sure there's a way to do it, but I can't remember? Thanks Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/746558-merging-colours/ Share on other sites

-KJ
There are different ways to accomplish this, but we need more information. Like what program are you doing this in and if they are seperate layers or a layer with a layer style. Anyway, I'll try to answer this both ways. Is this an outline? If so, try messing with the gradient scale and setting it at 100% opacity orange at the halfway mark and the end will be @ 0% opacity and select Shape Burst as the gradient method (forget what it was called). If these are two layers on top of each other, you can use the feather method. If the blue layer is on top, ctrl + click on it, select -> modify -> expand it to your desired fade boundary, then select -> modify -> feather to around 5 - 10px, and finally go to edit -> fill with the blue color (take into mind the gradient there, hopefully you have it masked or as a layer style so you can adjust it easily. If the orange layer is on top, do the opposite. With the selection chosen as it is in your attachment, go to select -> modify -> feather to around 5px and select inverse (ctrl + i) place a layer mask on your new selection there and it should fade the orange part. The problem now might be that the background is leaking through the fade before the blue part. You will have to fill in the area behind the orange part with blue to fix that. ninjamunky
You need anti-aliasing. It will make the part where they meet look less sharp and pixelated without blurring or smudging them. -KJ
Oh, I guess it would've helped to full view your image. I thought it was saved in lowest quality and thus the artifacts when scaled down. Yeah, you need antialiasing like ninjamunky said. When you grab the Selection Tool, be sure to put a checkmark in the Anti-alias option at the top toolbar. If you are making it into a selection from a path, also be sure to put a checkmark by the "Anti-alias" optioin within the prompt that appears.
