All-Glass Firefox v2!

Recommended Posts

what the hell? I get a black chrome instead of a transparent one. I'm using Firefox RC 3.5 RC3.

edit: could be WEBDEVELOPER's fault. But I need that extension! You could always make it compatible with it, since as you may know WEBDEVELOPER is a well-known and much-used add-on for Friefox.

edit2: it is GMAIL NOTIFIER's fault too.

Hey there, thanks for replying!

I'd love to fix it, but the modified script for Glasser is not my work, and I don't know how to edit it. I've only done the CSS coding to make everything look okay in newer versions of Firefox, and some very minor debugging in the javascript.

The original script is from Jordoex, you might be able to reach him over here, he will probably be able to help you a little better.

Thanks for trying my addon!

hey guys, I just upgraded to the final 3.5 version

but I'm having one single issue

I modded glasser v2 so far that the text is black and the tabs are different (look pic)

but now that black text is kind of blured ?!

is this some kind of bug or is it a feature :D

this is kind of annoying cause I can't read the titles sometimes

thanks for your help :)

That's because the shadow is also still black.

In this file

%appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\YOURPROFILE\extensions\allglassv2@ambroos.neowin.net\chrome\skin\classic\overlay.css

change every text-shadow thing to white instead of black. Should do the trick.

Yes it is :) Nothing changed since the 3.5 Previews, it's bugfree! (reflected it in the main post)

How do I get it so it's only HALF-GLASS, like the Bookmarks toolbar and tabs are not glass??

You can just use the normal Glasser extension for that.

The following is a screenshot from the OP's post:

download.php?file=post-151800-1243379055.png&name=allglassnew.png

As you can see he doesn't have it fully expanded, so it's showing as glass.

Here is a screencap of Firefox running on my system, it's fully expanded and as you can see it's black, only when I partially resize it does it show up as glass:

It seems to be the same with IE8, it's all black when it's fully expanded, but when it's resized I get glass. Any idea why it's not showing as glass?

Forgot to mention, that menus are still showing up solid.

You need to patch your system with something like VistaGlazz to keep transparency, even when your windows are maximized.

I will get Win7 Ultimate when it comes out.

A work around to keep everything in Glass mode when windows are maximized is to use VistaGlazz, I just installed it...but don't want to reboot my system yet as I am in the middle of getting some files.

I didn't even notice your post, isn't that bad...went searching for something to force the Glass look and then I found VistaGlazz and when I came back here to post about it I only noticed your post after I edited my post.

Thanks! Now Vista looks much more glassy.

I think the File Menu should be Semi-transparent and not full...makes it hard to know when you're grabbing the window to drag it.

Could you please make a version with the File Menu not transparent?

Many addons that add stuff to the toolbar are breaking this addon, and I can't do anything about it! Sorry!

(Eventjes in het Nederlands: jammer dat je addon niet werkt, maar er zijn veel addons die hetzelfde probleem hebben en jammer genoeg kan ik dit soort problemen ook niet oplossen! Jammer!)

There seems to be no glass on some windows. For example if you click on a image that opens in a new window there is no glass, across the toolbar it's just black. Is this an issue on my end? It wasn't like this with the old glasser and firefox.

Thanks for the excellent addon! Are you thinking of doing a version for thunderbird? How easy would it be to modify for that?
