Daemon tool on Windows 7 successfully installed

Recommended Posts

And I remember it working on x64 Vista shortly before or after it went Gold.

Yes, it works just fine for Vista. This is a big deal for Windows 7 because before the new SPTD was released today we couldn't get it to install, thus no DT or Alcohol 120%. It was never a x64 issue.

I finally got Daemon Tools Lite installed following instructions, but when I mount an image, nothing happens. I can't find the drive anywhere...

Guys the same driver works for Alcohol

  • Start install
  • Kill the SPTD installer
  • Install the new SPTD package
  • Reboot
  • Finish the instalation
  • Enjoy

Why do people insist on using daemon tools, all you need is Virtual Clonedrive, unless you are pirating software?

:p

ahaha, piracy fail!

Just a pain in the arse for me. I ended up unistalling in safe mode and using PowerISO, which was the solution that always worked for me on W7 (I don't need protection emulation).

Couldnt get it to work on win 7077 x64. Installed as described in this thread but deamon tools didnt show the drive in explorer. Also gave it a letter of -.-

Tried to change letter but wouldnt have it, also told me it had mounted an image but didnt.

I have the patience of a dead rat. All it needed was a restart. Works perfectly now :D

It does, Installing SPTD and trying again should work all the same for Alcohol.

In the meantime, I took the advice and gave the "Updating Virtual Devices.." dialog a few minutes - and it worked, seems to be fine now.

Good job to the SPTD team.

  • 2 weeks later...

Can't get it to install at all over here, I might just throw my arms up and say fook it and install Virtual CloneDrive.

Installed Virtual CloneDrive, thanks, works perfectly on 7077.

Why do you guys hurt yourselves by trying to install DT?

A new version is publicly available on Daemon Tools website. Why would you install 4.30.03 when you can install the last version?

Aside of a new sptd driver a newer version of DT Pro has been released.

For those that want to install DT Lite, download the last SPTD driver v 1.58 from Duplex Secure website!
