I have a suggestion: Rather than patch logonui.exe, change the value UIHost in the registry key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\ to point to your logonui.exe. I have heard it does not like paths that include spaces or other characters, so I recommend you put it in C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Logons or something like it.

That is how Logon Loader works; it does not patch the system files but rather just sets that registry key to the selected logon screen. :D

What do you think about making Longhorn Transformation Pack lite? It has only themes, wallpapers, login, sidebar, uxtheme patch and some avatar added in user pic.

Great idea! Possible description:

Want to experience the look of Longhorn without the risk of patching system files? Longhorn Transformation Pack Lite is just what you're looking for. LTP Lite installs the themes, sidebar, login screen and more, without patching any system files.* LTP Lite is perfect if you need reliability and looks.

*Patches uxtheme.dll, a file that allows you to use custom themes. You may already have this file patched.

What files does it change?

I've installed it on my hungarian WinXP Pro (latest), and now it doesn't work.

I can't start the computer.

Please write back as soon as possible!

this a well know problem :

Bill Gates is after you for altering .dll's and doing stuff you got no clue

 no but really , use the system restore point , start in safe modus...

[and welcome here :shifty: ]
