guardiansoftware
werejag yor exactly right. and x dont try that crap. oh read my statement use at your own risk crap. Im no noob been in computers 25 years. The point is people like you release code and programs Before it's stable just because people are rushing or to make a name. Real prgramers take their time dont care about fame and being liked and admired. They MAKE sure the code is correct. Of course there is always issues with code thats to be expected. but from seeing your releases .your work is rushed . I promise you if you count out of these 48 pages of responses the people that had no problems at all and people who did, well you'll get the idea. Lastly thanks werejab for pointing out my stupidity not for being a noob as they say but for even downloading his stuff to begin with. Windows X
lol.Replacing system files never be safe, man. I didn't code XP or 2003 to make interface looks like Longhorn. I just replaced its resources. The problem is replacing system files method. Who can tell me the most stable and best way for manual replacing system files? Problem is not files but it's a way to replace system files. If you aren't sure about my method, you can use manual transformation to replace your system files manually with your hand as safe as you're sure in it. I didn't rush my work. If you want to solve this problem, please tell me the best way to do manual replacing system files instead putting noobs complaing like werejag (I didn't mean to you. Just an example). Because someone didn't read that long enough, they're deserved to be in trouble by their careless. WitCh-Fire
Id just like to say that this is AWESOME! Good work, and YES...i agree...ignore the n00bs that all want to complain and put you down! Modifying your system outside of the original Setup is COMPLETELY At your Own Risk. If you dont understand that...dont install it. Meshuggah
i have to defend Windows-X on this.. I mean this guy spends hours and hours and hours working on this, its his pride and joy, i mean do you even know how long he's been working on this? He works on this as soon as he has time off from school/work. Come on guys, you know the risk you take with these type of files, and on the money side, maybe he has to pay for bandwith? im pretty sure a lot of you people will download this and never use it, so you are just wasting his bandwith also though, i do believe that you (Windows-X) should release all of your work in seperate files a lot of people dont want a FULL TRANSFORMATION, but would just rather try out the many things you have done, and i think this is what hurts you the most Maybe you should start using Stardock programs that can do everything you want to do without having to worry about screwing up people's computers, but everyday you seem to make more and more enemies, and i honestly think that sucks You are an awesome themer, but i think your method of releasing is flawed Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/75768-longhorn-transformation-pack/page/29/#findComment-2165088 Share on other sites
WitCh-Fire
Thats probably the most mature comment ive seen for a while. The best way to ask for changes is to be polite, not chastize the person that spends THEIR hard work, and THEIR time on releasing stuff for other people, it obviously works fine for Windows X. The reason a lot of people are having problems is becasue they are not reading Windows X's instructions....when he talks about SP2, that means any Critical Updates, HotFixes, etc. Dont blame him, hes given enough warning. If you really want this transformation pack, Use a testing machine, or have a machine set aside to test this with first. If youve lost information....Tough luck....you should have backed your stuff up. Windows X
Longhorn Transformaion Pack will be flawless if I remove system files parts. So, I'll hide it in next release and allow only ppl who MSN me to obtain password to use it (To prevent noobs?) For the rest, don't you worry. I'll release new updates and additions in after while. Windows X
"Longhorn Transformation Pack does not support Windows XP with Service Pack 2 in this version. Please wait for supported Service Pack 2 version. However, you can use this transformation pack to get common parts except automatic transformation mode. You can modify your OS files with files program give you in Longhorn Transformation Pack Files folder and replace it by run apply file to make operation looks like automatic mode which let program restore original files during rollback." - First warning for XPSP2...Noobs still run apply.bat without modifying their OS files altough I tell them how to use it. "Please do not blame me if this patch make any problem to your PC. You must accept that you use it with your own risks. However, I'm welcome for any solution and info." - To tell them the truth, it's not safe. However, they're still complaining me like it's all my fault. "One of new additions since Longhorn Transformation Pack 6.0 is Transformation mode which allow using Longhorn Transformation Pack in manual mode. In manual mode, user can do manual transformation with system file replacing program such as replacer. %APPTITLE% will copy system files to Longhorn Transformation Pack Files folder instead automate transformation and let user change system files theirself to prevent failure transformation by automatic mode which let program restore original files during rollback." - They still have a chance to use it as safe as they can but they deninded. That's why I say noobs. Cause this, they're deserved to be in trouble by their careless! the only carelessness is a themer that released a broken theme pack. your theme windows x, since we have to spell it out for you im not saying stop themeing im saying find a better way to test you themes before release. your current release and watch people's pc crash testing has got to stop. and calling those who have there pcs crash noobs has earned you a very bad reputation for being a complete idiot Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/75768-longhorn-transformation-pack/page/29/#findComment-2165240 Share on other sites
