To those who say XP SP2 is unstable, that is not entirely true. Applications normally used in business such as

MS Office (up to 2003 version) seem to work well. SP2 runs popular AV programs such as NAV, Trend and AntiVir

as well as Spyware detectors and non M$ software firewalls. It does not recognize all of them in new "Security

Center" though.

I do agree you should not use betas (such as SP2) for your primary business computer.

Sorry if that was off topic, but felt it important to reply.

Has anyone run updated Longhorn transformation pack with XP SP2 successfully?

It's impossible to make seperate shellstyle pane background for each folder in XP. Btw, I really need to tell you something about using LTP in XPSP2 or 2K3SP1.

"Longhorn Transformation Pack 6 (Especially for Re-Release) can be used in Windows XP with Service Pack 2 for common parts that every Windows XP client deserves like visual styles, logons, wallpapers, reg mods, fonts, etc but only system files will not be replaced so feel free to use it. You can use resources from files program give you to make your own files and replace it yourself with replacer or something.

Enjoy my Longhorn stuffs. :)"

I just formatted my drive (not becuse of the Transformation pack though! :p) and I am trying to donwload the pack again, but ALL servers are slow to dead...anyone have a server that is usable on DSL?

Also, I can never get the Longhorn Toolbar to work, just my normal toolbar appears. Any ideas?

Thanks

*EDIT*

Umm what are you talking about windows x? Automated file replace ment? I dont get what your talkinga bot. By the way, the way your talking about my package, like as if its got nothing, unless you havnt seen the thread, a lot of stuff has been added.... anyways.

where is the thread?

and where can you download alan's file?

hey windows x,

got to say, great work here. I love it.

Can i just ask you a few questions though, in your image that you posted on the first page your desktop seems like its a really high resolution and all your fonts look clean, mine appear jaggy.

Also, how did you get your clock to appear like it does? Mine just remains normal as it was before i installed the pack. Do i have to install a different toolbar or something?

I hope you can help.

cheers

Hello,

I just installed Longhorn Pack 6.0 but unfortunatelly my pc crashed after that.

The same thing happened when I installed Longhorn Pack 4.0 on the same PC a while ago, I thought Longhorn Pack 6.0 had fixed my past issues but I guess I was wrong.

I have Windows XP Pro on a 3.2GHZ 1GB Ram 8300 DELL PC. :D

This is what happens:

1. Downloaded Longhorn Pack 6.0

2. Installed Transformation Pack 6.0 with default options.

3. Followed instructions and restarted PC.

4. PC does not boot - it stays on with a black screen.

5. I tried "fixboot" from Original Windows XP Pro CD but did not work. See step 4.

Fortunatelly, I have Drive Image to restore my system but is there any reason why this may happen? and does anyone know of any "complications" while installing Longhorn Pack 6.0?

Note: In the past I have installed Longhorn Pack 4.0 on less powerful Pc's without problems.

Thank you.

Andy
