sherpard
windowsx , how come they have some taskkill.exe error message? Saying they can't find it or something.. then the whole setup just gets cancelled, it happens on both auto and manual transofmration.. how now? Windows X
You may need to install service pack. Windows XP Service Pack 2 has taskkill.exe file. I haven't checked it that normal XP doesn't have this. But you can close MSN Messenger completely to solve this issue.
sherpard
thanks for the fast reply windowsx! ill certainly try it out and close the messenger program in task manager.. maybe thats the problem.. just in case, if it isnt the problem, what is? brandon
P!P
Good stuff. I tried installing this on XP PRO SP1 and began to install. It was to the replace system files part and it stopped there. I then installed on fresh installed XP PRO SP2 533MHZ and it installed fine. The sidebar is messed up though. Also, I think I few things maybe didn't get installed right. All these new themes got installed, this is from LTP right? They are awesome. I picked one I liked.

Windows X
SideBar has a bit of problem about active desktop bugs and all visual styles are created by me. And you guys now can check it from add/remove program.
P!P
Anyway I can just get the themes? Those themes are some of the best I've seen but I have no need for the whole LTP on my production computer.
Windows X
Then don't select what you don't want. Just keep them all like it was and tick only visual style.

P!P
Okay, but as I said. It doesn't seem to install on this computer. I guess I'll try again.
P!P
Yeah, okay I installed this on my production computer and well.. things didn't exactly go as planned. I did as you said and didn't pick any of the Longhorn settings but installed themes. It said to restart, it restarted logged in and even before it finished it starting shutting down. It restarted and now it won't boot Windows whats-so-ever. I think it said something about a corrput kernel file. Pulled out the XP disk and that isn't helping either. Recovery Console doesn't seem able to repair Windows. Which is normally my cure all. This isn't funny. :(
sherpard
windowsx, it is not the problem with msn messenger, i dont know what it is.. could it be because im currently running the flyakite osx transofmration pack..?
sherpard
this doesnt seem to be a program that could work smoothly with the masses..
P!P
Well, although this really messed up my computer, which is yet to return to normal, I still like it. Mr. Windows X did a good job. Just a few bugs it seems.
kaiden
Ouch, it more than a little messed up my system. After finishing the installation and rebooting i got an error that my NTOSKERNEL.EXE was corrupt or missing :p. So thanks for that, now I got to start over with a fresh install. System kinda needed it anyways hehe.
