Longhorn Transformation Pack

Recommended Posts

ahfunaki, the link is a couple of posts up.

Also, so is their anyway to get the desktop icon text to blend with the background?

After I installed the pack it does this.

I could be missing something, but I used to only have "adjust settings for best appearance," but this has changed and the desktop colored boxes box the text of my icons. Any help is appreciated.

What do you guys think if I made next version has option for wizard or file extraction and let you change it yourself with no instruction? Seems like many guys want it but remember....It's recommend for English version only! Other language edition may has some problems about stability....

I still need a fix for this desktop icon text box problem; I cannot get rid of the blue text boxes of the icons when I have a different colored desktop picture up. Please hellp if you can.

if you have the sidebar enabled, then you have to right click on the desktop, click on the desktop tab, change the color (lower right). i think it has to be a solid color though. not sure if this is what u were asking about, but i think it is.

Windows X .. i couldn't get it to work. First time I tried, it sort of work, but the boot screen wuz still old, and it told me to insert cd at the start when the plex display properties showed up at startup, then i tried to restart again to see if it'll show the boot screen, and it still didn't, and it told me to insert cd again. Do i have to insert cd everytime? That's not the main problem, it didn't have the plex theme shown anymore. So I uninstalled it, and used GoBack3 to revert my hard drive to a setting where I haven't even installed this yet. So, then I tried installing the patch again, and everything won't work right. The plex theme is not there after reboot, the boot screen is not Longhorn. What's wrong Windows X? I know it's great, but lots of problems!! Help!!

So you didn't read setup instruction and text in pack carefully. Do not insert any Setup CD! Just cancel it all and wait till no more to come (about 30 seconds) and you can choose Plex Style in display properties.

Well .. this time the Plex showed up :) I cancelled the cd insert for all of them, and the Longhorn startup replaced the XP, but now when I restart it, it returned back to the Windows XP Startup flag and stuff, I want the Longhorn. What's wrong?

Windows X ... well everytime I restarted the computer, it shows the Windows File Protection thingy and tells me to insert cd, so I pressed Cancel. This is very annoying. Is there a way to let Windows forget these modification? And how do i get the Longhorn bootup screen (the black background with the loading bar)? Please help! Thanks ;)

You must patch protected WFP file like sfc.dll or somethings with some hex-editor like UltraEdit and use replacer to replace file. Search for tricks and instruction in google.

Windows X.. I'm really newb at this, can you patch me the sfc_os.dll that is modified (from 8B 36 to 90 90) and send it to me? and if you won't mind, can you please find the replacer program with it, I've tried and I couldn't find it. Thanks for your time and kind attention!

P.S. In Longhorn Transformation Pack 4.0, will u have the background picture in the content when opening My Computers, My Documents, etc.
